Hi ladies

Basically I can't poop !
Gave birth Saturday. Laboured since the Thursday. (Pooped that Thursday)

Had first poo Tuesday. Now I'm stuck again. Poo is solid and I cannot pass it. It makes me strain so hard.
Pretty sure Iv got a good pile going on there. Anus is very swollen. Have stitches down there too!

What the heck can I do?
Iv taken laxative since Sunday. My stomach is churning but I think the blockage at the start is stopping anything looser coming!

can someone help as to something that can be done and who to contact.

So common, so sore! I’m not in the UK so not exactly sure but basically anyone should be able to help - maternity triage, your midwife, GP. Sounds like an enema would be a good idea - there are less heavy-duty ones in tablet form that you can pop in yourself if that’s your preference (glycerol or similar). That would help to relieve current issue - and then your oral laxatives should be able to cope! I’ve absolutely no doubt you’re already trying all the diet things (hydration, fiber, kiwifruit/prunes, blah blah). Good luck!!

Glycerine suppositories are your friend!

Up your hydration, keep eating high fibre foods.

Lots of water, high fibre foods, put your feet up on a step when you need to go. A nice warm bath and a strong coffee helps as well. I suffered terribly for months after my first so speak to your midwife for advice.

Orange juice and peppermint tea too

Thanks ladies it's awful isn't it.

Doctors supposed to be phoning me this afternoon. Can't come soon enough when you just want a poo! X
