Feeling depressed at 25 weeks

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone else feels low? I’m nearly 25 weeks with first baby (a girl) and I’m starting to feel very low. Although me and my dh had started to talk about trying for a baby, finding out I was pregnant was a shock as literally got pregnant the first time after coming off the pill which I’d been on for 10 years...

Although I like children, I’ve always had very strong feelings against pregnancy etc - I had anorexia as a teenager and find the changes to my body extremely hard to cope with. So far I’ve been lucky and haven’t gained weight and don’t have much of a bump but I’m starting to feel out of control like it won’t be much longer before I’m huge and I feel like I can’t cope with that :( I feel like it’s stirring up old feelings and habits

I’m also terrified of the birth and feel like both options (natural or c section) are awful and I just feel overwhelmed. Also worried about how my life will change after having a baby and feel like I will have no life. My husband has also lost his job after being furloughed for months so that is causing us stress and worry and I have a chronic autoimmune illness too.

My midwife does know about some of these issues and I was referred to a specialist midwife who deals with women with mental health issues but unfortunately she’s been off sick and still isn’t back and there’s no replacement :(

Has anyone felt anything similar?
