What week into your pregnancy did you lovely ladies receive your letter for your first scan? I am 10 weeks and 4 days pregnant and no letter... I'm an essential worker and cannot wait till last minute for the letter as I gave to give my employer a reasonable amount of notice... :-(

My letter never arrived! I was told at my booking appt when my scan was. Call your midwife.

Babs709 · 29/07/2020 06:33

I don’t recall getting a lot of notice but I believe it was more than a week and a half. Have you had a midwife appointment yet? No harm calling your local unit and checking (I know we don’t always like to be a nuisance but I don’t think you can just keep guessing personally!)

Congratulations Flowers

@peachypetite :O no way! I was told by HR at my work I have to have this letter and show it to them to be able to leave work. How weird...

I remember there was a letter and it came through couple of days after I saw my midwife for 8w appointment where she booked the scan for me over the phone. I'd call your midwife especially as you need the letter for work.

I had first midwife appointment just before 8 weeks and got a letter a week later with a scan date for bang on 12 weeks

islandislandisland · 29/07/2020 07:06

I would ring and chase it up today, I've had to do this for virtually every scan and appointment I've been supposed to have, god knows if I would have seen anyone otherwise Confused hope you get it sorted.

@Anlyska I got my letter about 2 weeks before. I’d give them a wee call just to be sure it’s not gone missing or got delayed. Just a word of warning - my 12 week scan is the only appointment I’ve had a letter for! Everything else has just been a phonecall telling me an appointment time, date and location so I’ve had nothing to show my work at all 😓 Call has always usually been about 7-10 days before my appt and they’ve said it’s not worth sending a letter. not sure if that’s just in my area x

Zaalfruit · 29/07/2020 07:16

Deffo give them a call - I am constantly Chasing my appointments.

sel2223 · 29/07/2020 07:44

I had my booking in appt at 9 and a half weeks then got the letter for my first scan just after 12 weeks (scan was for when I was 13+6).

Bearcub01 · 29/07/2020 07:47

I called the midwife number last week to book in, she gave me my appointments over the phone then I got a letter 3 days later. My scan isn’t until 2nd September when I’ll be 12 weeks.

DressingGown87 · 29/07/2020 08:22

I was given a number to call at my 8week booking in appointment, to book my own scan, so I could pick a day and time which was convenient within the window. I never received a letter to confirm. I’m lancashire. I would give them a call and chase it up, and ask if you could have written confirmation for your employer.
