Hi just needing a rant! lol
My husband is being ridiculously over protective because I have asthma and won't let me go shopping or anywhere where there may be people . I know he means well but I'm going insane! I haven't been able to look at baby things or buy anything. I'm happy to get 2nd hand rather than fork out for new stuff but he won't let me do that in case whatever I bought had been handled by someone with covid at some point. I'm just panicking, I'm 24 weeks so I know I have plenty of time yet but I just want to know we have what we need. I can't relax at the moment thinking about it and I keep getting upset which I know is silly. And hubby is just not showing any interest in getting organised for baby. Another issue is a pram, he refuses to buy one as we still have our daughters from a few years ago. But I never liked it, its a cheap joie one and for the price it did a good job but its bulky and hard to steer. It doesn't have a carry cot bit either so I don't feel comfortable putting a newborn in it. It lies flat but it isn't very padded. My main issue with it though is that it used to stick a lot when trying to fold/unfold it and I often struggled if I'd been out trying to fold it back down to get in the boot. Because he's a big guy he can just force it open/shut so he doesn't see a problem with it 😂. But I just have visions of stressful trips out with a screaming baby and not being able to get my pram in the car. On the other hand annoyingly I can see his point of view - how much use am I going to get out of a carry cot? It seems a lot of expense to buy a whole new pram for a few months use. Most of the time I'm going to be running my daughter around and have the car seat attachment on anyway rather than a carry cot. They still sell the car seat compatible with our old pram so I could make a cheap travel system. If it wasn't for the pram sticking I probably would make do. But I do also like the idea of a nice new pram (or a better quality 2nd hand one). Hubby thinks I'm just being a snob and just want a fancy pram for when I'm at the school gates, which to be fair is partly true. What do you think?
