4.1mm NT scan

Hello all Smile

I am pregnant with my first baby and went for the exciting 13 week scan on Friday. Unfortunately at it the NT results showed a reading of 4.1mm which we were told put us in the high risk category. I’m booked in for CVS on Thursday and due to get my blood test results today.

All they said last week was that I have a 1 in 5 chance of there being an issue, but after reading other posts I’m not sure how they know that with just the scan? From what I see from others who’ve had a high NT reading, their risk rating was given with the blood results.

I’m worrying the bloody results today could make the odds worse Confused

The lady doing the scan didn’t mention anything else to do with growth or nasal bones being seen etc at the scan so that’s also worrying me? Should that have been covered at my 13 week scan?

Hi, without going into too much detail, I didn’t get as far as having my bloods taken for the combined test, the NT measurement (4.6mm) from my scan was sufficient to go straight to CVS. You might get more of a response posting in the antenatal tests board, there are some really knowledgeable people on there. Perhaps you could report this thread to Mumsnet and ask them to to move it across for you?
Good luck with your results.

Hiya, I've been through similar (nt of 5.3mm) but with bad news at the end. Let me know if you want to know anymore.

They told me from the nuchal reading my blood result would be high risk and it was.
There are a lot of problems that can be there without being obvious on a scan but the nuchal is a big indication.

I'm so sorry you're going through this Flowers

Hi.
Mine came back as a 1 in 5 chance. I opted for extra scans, and no tests. I've just had my 3rd extra scan and I've been given the all clear.
