Be honest, who's sex drive has gone through the roof and who's has dropped through the floor of absolutely no interest at all?

I've found after many months of trying to conceive at every opportunity, early morning sickness, tiredness and just feeling a bit podgy mine has disappeared!

I keep reading articles about increased libido in the second trimester and laughing...

Mine disappeared somewhere around week 8 and hasn’t re-emerged, I’m 2 weeks off my due date now. Really can’t wait for it to come back but aware it could be a while Sad I was also disappointed by tales of a 2nd trimester surge!

@Umberta I'm surprised she reacted like that! A lot of the preg newsletters I'm subscribed to (Emma's Diary, Bounty etc) even recommend it as it's good for bonding before baby arrives Grin Let's face it none of us will be doing anything for a while when we have a newborn...

Umberta · 29/07/2020 12:00

@flameprincess I know right!! I took it quite badly actually (I mean inwardly, i didn't show my reaction) because i interpreted it like she was surprised because I'm so heavily pregnant now (I was 35w when we had the convo, 37w now) that I'm no longer attractive Sad I know it's all my own issue and she almost definitely wasn't thinking that. It's tough isnt it when our bodies have changed so much. I don't feel as attractive as I was pre pregnancy, but I bet that's a really normal feeling. Not long left now!

I'm 29 weeks and miss sex. DP's sex drive has plummeted recently due to work and other stresses. We've talked, I don't put pressure, he's going to make a bit more of an effort. It'll be fine.

roarfeckingroar · 29/07/2020 12:49

@Umberta no other kids here and I take advantage of when DP nips out for a walk / to the shops 😁

BabyB19 · 29/07/2020 13:20

It's such a relief to see these conversations and everything is normal! Ours has slowed down but not gone entirely through 1/2nd trimester but as soon as the third hit so did PGP, body size, lack of sleep etc etc etc, it's pretty much stopped now, I feel like my drive is up but my body won't let me act on it. We have continued to do 'hand stuff' so that we have some satisfaction and like PPs have said more wanking than normal when he is out at the shops of I have a long bath etc surely you can manage a quick 2 minutes in the shower when he doesn't come in? It doesn't have to be anything fancy as long as you get a quick relief does it 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣

Umberta · 29/07/2020 13:47

@roarfeckingroar good tip, why have I not thought of that! I'm kind of relieved no one has accused me of being an old fashioned prude for needing to be alone in the house to do it lol (embarrassed face)

Umberta · 29/07/2020 13:48

@BabyB19 the shower could work if I was quick but I don't have good enough balance now to do it standing up ....! My bump is honestly so huge lol

roarfeckingroar · 29/07/2020 15:43

@Umberta it's not being a prude, it's having the space to know you won't be disturbed!

Umberta · 29/07/2020 17:09

@roarfeckingroar agreed!! Smile

Mc3209 · 29/07/2020 17:40

@Umberta I usually do a quick one when DH is in the shower 😬

It's so weird, I don't want to have sex, but if I don't do a quick wank every now and again I get orgasms in my sleep.

Umberta · 29/07/2020 21:54

@mc3209 omg I've had those in my sleep too, not very nice though. I remember having them sometimes as a teenager (waking up throbbing and a bit panicked) but never since then until now, third trimester. Isn't the body such a mystery. No NCT class or nhs webpage tells you about that!!

FlorenceFlounce · 30/07/2020 01:02

@Umberta 💗

I’ve had really terrible reflux all along and it means I can’t lie down properly till 1 or 2 am... soooo I snuggle and stuff with him till he goes to sleep at midnight then I have my excuse to go to the spare bedroom to read or back downstairs to the sofa 👌

But I can do it without a peep so he never knows 🤣

DinkyMamma90 · 30/07/2020 14:58

I am so glad you guys are talking about this.

My sex drive has always been quite low, and the husband and I are more of a "Hands stuff" type of couple which I love. As you can imagine trying for a baby was quite difficult as we didn't really have much sex...but managed it all the same.

We had sex the other day which is the first time since being pregnant (I am 15 weeks) (don't worry there have been plenty of orgasm between this time) and all I can say is it was THE MOST INTENSE FEELING OF MY LIFE.

It was so intense that I started crying VERY LOUDLY, it felt sooooooooooooo good, but I couldn't help but cry... luckily we have a great sense of humour and just burst into laughter...but has anyone else experienced this? Or just me Grin

I may add It didn't hurt me, i was just overcome with intense feeling.

OhToBeASeahorse · 30/07/2020 15:13

Mine is high this time (2nd pregnancy). But I've also become quite... er... rude. No candles and rom coms for me, I seem to have become a porn star in my head. Which is frankly ridiculous given I look like the QEII.
