Hey all 🥰

Just wanted to open up on here as I know your all very clued up about pregnancy one way or another!!

On 22/7/20 I went and had blood drawn and my HCG levels were 8. That was before my missed period so expectantly low. I'm aware that anything between 5-25 is pregnant. I went back yesterday 27/7/20 and the results came back today at 71 which I keep reading is slightly low... I am having mild cramps but nothing serious and no bleeding. I think I'm 4+4w but unsure although I did take ovulation tests.

Can anyone tell me if they had a similar experienced and carried to term?

Thanks in advance ♥️♥️

Hi @Gab101! I can't comment on having the same experience as I didn't have my hcg levels tested in this pregnancy but I do know that they are supposed to double about every 2 days. If yours were 8 on the 22nd, they should have been at least 16 on the 24th, 32 on the 26th and 64 by the 28th. Given that you were already 70 ny the 27th it sounds okay! There is a huge range of what is "normal" at your stage of pregnancy because the dates of ovulation/ implantation can vary so much. I would try not to worry just yet as there is still a way to go- I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you x

@Girlinglasses

Thank you sooooo much for taking time out of your life to reply! I didn't work out all the doubling numbers and dates but should've because that's given me such peace of mind. The doctor said it's not AS good as it should be but it's definitely pregnant which left me coming off the phone call worried!

Hopefully all is well and I carry a beautiful baby to term🤞🏽 xx

Hi @gab101 is that all you've bene elft with or are they going to do some more bloods?

I got my BFP on Saturday, for the last 24hrs I've had quite sharp pain in my left side. I had blood tests done today, HCG was 111 and I'm exactly 4 weeks. Have to wait 48hrs and then see what they say, it's terrifying!

I asked the Nurse if that was a good thing, and she said it's the increase that is important, not your starting number. Yours is sounding positive!

Will this be your first?

Nuttypea · 28/07/2020 20:55
  1. Excuse the typos
  2. By exactly 4 weeks, I just mean if my calculations from last period are correct. Who knows 🤷‍♀️
pandafunfactory · 28/07/2020 21:05

It's the rate of change that matters. You are very, very early on and the number went up as it should. Why were you having bloods done?

Gab101 · 28/07/2020 22:24

@Nuttypea hey! Your numbers sound nice and high and hopefully are doubling up. I ended up having severe pain and bleeding yesterday and had to go to emergency and am now miscarrying. I'm sure it's different for everyone, but I wasn't so lucky this time 😞 all the best to you ♥️♥️♥️ don't worry, I fear that has ruined what I had. I worried everyday instead of relaxing and enjoying. X

@pandafunfactory I don't really know... I decided I wanted them done so I could believe I was pregnant, then they were super low so the doc said do another one in a couple of days and we did and that was when I got the 71. I am now down to 62 from yesterday and miscarrying.

I can see where the doctor’s comment came from. Your levels seem v low. By 5 weeks can gestational sacs are seen on scans snd that correlates with hCG levels of 1,000-2,000. Yours aren’t looking like they’ll get there. The doubling thing is more relevant slightly later as the first few days the levels jump significantly.

I do hope it works out for you but I think the doctor was trying to manage your expectations.

Gab101 · 28/07/2020 23:47

@JoJoSM2 thanks for taking the time to respond. If you read below you would see that I am currently miscarrying. Wasn't meant to be for me. But thanks for your information I appreciate it. 🤍

Ah I see op, very sorry to hear that.

Ckmmr20 · 29/07/2020 00:01

Hello I’m sorry to jump on the post I have took 5 ovulation test and there all positive but I took 2 clear blue and there negative what could this be ?

Gab101 · 29/07/2020 00:48

@Ckmmr20 sorry I think your ok the wrong post for this information. But I'd advise you don't take anything as a positive until a pregnancy tests says so.

Hi @gab101 I have been thinking of you. As odd as that sounds! I've had more bllods done and mine are not looking very positive either.

I hope you are OK, as silly as that sounds. It's so unfair that it's not worked out for you, but here's to hoping next month will bring you some luck. I honestly feel if I do end up miscarrying, I will wait for a while. It will be my 2nd md this year and I just don't think my heart can take it.

It's shit that women are never made aware of how hard conception really is. I grew up with the naivety that you have sex ocne, and then you're up the duff. What a daft cow.

Anyway, love and light OP, have a large glass of wine, enjoy the sunshine and try to look forward xxx

@Gab101 how did it go?
