Panicking over nothing?

I had my booking appointment with midwife not long ago. They took urine and blood samples.

I have today had both a text off my GP and a letter saying after receiving the results of my urine sample, I need to take a repeat sample to my GP.

There is nothing stating why this is just a sentence at the bottom to say 'this is nothing to worry about'.

I know they've said it's nothing to worry about but I can't help it. It took so long to get to this point for us after years of problems. I wish they'd just explain why they need another one after receiving the results of the last so I knew!

Maybe signs of urine infection or sugar or ketones

I had this a couple of times because there was raised protein or something - didn’t cause any issues just need to double check it as I think it’s a sign of GD. I wouldn’t worry I’m sure it’s nothing to stress over!

Same as the poster above, I would presume it’s just a UTI or something similar. They aren’t allowed to say it’s nothing to worry about, if it was something to be concerned about.

I've had this a few times due to traces of protein or ketones.....never enough to be an issue but enough for them to want to double check the levels.
I'm 37+4 now and absolutely fine.

I had my first bloods and urine done on 10 July and after chasing results last week I was told I had to go back to do urine and blood again - because they didn’t test it! So it could be as simple as that ☺️
Apparently they didn’t test as it wasn’t sent in the ‘right timeframe’ 😐

It could be contaminated and come back as a mixed growth. We get those all the time (I'm a nurse) the lab always asks for a repeat sample. Or it could be a mild UTI, you don't always get symptoms in pregnancy so that's why they like to check

I had to go back for a repeat blood test because they spelt my name wrong on the bottle. Could be as simple as that!

It's just with the letter specifically saying 'following the results of your last sample'. Like why wouldn't they say what the results were that meant I needed another?! Gahh!

I had a letter to say my urine test was 'inconclusive' and to drop another off when I was able to. I really, really wouldn't worry. They'd tell you if there was a concern like protein, glucose etc.

I've just been to the GP to give the sample and asked why they needed another. Apparently it didn't say on the letter to them either? They are going to ring me tomorrow if there is a problem.

I would ring the midwife but it a hospital antenatal clinic due to the past issues mentioned, not a community one so they are very hard to get hold of to just have a chat to.

Ah okay I see, I honestly wouldn’t worry too much then. I’m sure it’s something minor.

I wish they wouldnt say that! It's like as soon as they say 'dont worry', you start worrying! Hope it all turns out ok. I'm sure it's something simple. They could have even lost the sample!
