Hi!

Early days, round out 3 days ago I am about 4/5 weeks. Have been taking pregnacare conception for about 4 weeks prior to this.

I have no swapped for just folic acid tablets and vitamin D tablets from super drug!

Is this everything I should be taking or am I missing something!?

Thanks xo

That sounds right, according to the NHS the main things are 400mcg of folic acid per day, 10 micro grams of vitamin D - there's loads of helpful information here www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/vitamins-minerals-supplements-pregnant/

As long as you have a balanced diet then you should be okay for the other vitamin and minerals, I had to also take iron supplements because my iron stores were low but they found that out from a blood test. Congratulations!

I would consider adding iron..

Anaemia in pregnancy is v common, as baby takes a lot of iron from you. If you start getting extra tired, it’s a common reason

Personally I just take pregnacare because it has your recommended daily dose of most key things, all in one easy tablet. I’m sure there are cheaper own brands available.( I then add 1 x ferrous sulphate iron supplement most days too, as i am prone to anaemia )

Folic acid and Vitamin D are the main ones. I had been taking folic acid since Jan and found out I’m pregnant last week so switched to the folic acid + vitamin D from boots. Will wait until my midwife appointment to see if she thinks I need anything else. I’m quite a fussy eater so don’t think I’ll be getting enough of what I should but who knows, last time I have blood I was told my iron levels were higher than average.
