Hi everyone just looking for some advice. Im 37+1 weeks pregnant my blood pressure has been up and down throughout my pregnancy, i have been takin medication which has helped. I had a growth scan at 36 weeks and they were happy with scan ect and my blood pressure was okay then. The past few days it is rising going up most days, i phoned mac they didn't want to see me as it wasn't classed as in their 'danger zone' but want me to see my midwife this week. Im hoping to see her tomorrow, im taking readings at home so i know its going up. My question is what is likely to happen now? Thank you.

Since you're on BP medication, your BP is rising in spite of it, and you're now term, I think they will advise you to have an induction.

There's no real downside to getting baby out early now. I assume your growth scan showed a good size baby for gestation, so no worries there. Otherwise, your BP issues will only get worse, and (IME - I had pre-eclampsia) obstetric medical professionals don't like to wait and see when BP is causing issues post-37 weeks.

Good luck with your appointment. Will be thinking of you. ❤️

Thank you for your reply, at my growth scan at 36 weeks she was 7lb 1oz so no concern about her growth. Im showing no other signs of pre-eclampsia but the rising blood pressure does concern me.

I was told by consultant that with my bp I would likely be induced before or at 39 weeks due to the increased risks of still birth and they would chat about this at my 36wk appointmentbooking my induction although my highs are very high sometimes.... I'm actually getting odd extremely low drops now which I've never had before even without pregnancy I mentioned it to consultant who said keep checking bp and will see you next time so guess alls good.

I took photos of my bp machine so they could see I wasn't just being a pain!!

How high is your bp? Mine has been steady with the medication and consultant wasnt't overly concerned and was happy for me to go back to midwife led care after my 36 week scan. I have also taken notes of my readings, with the changes the past few days.

Outside of pregnancy anywhere from 190/120 with medication..... It came down nicely with pregnancy bp meds to 130/80 and sits anywhere around there it spikes randomly recently 148/90....... lows around 98/50 which makes me feel really ill shakey vision issues problem is its quite unpredictable, I take labetalol and methyldopa and Adcal which also has effect on bp so consultant says.

Some readings I think my midwife thinks before I took it I ran round the garden!!

Yeah i am also taking Labetalol, fingers crossed it stays down as not sure what to expect at my next midwife appointment with me not having any further scans or speaking to the consultant again.
