Due 28th September 😊 Not sure I’ll make it until then though, at appnt on Thursday I was measuring 35 weeks! (Was 31+3).

I’m not too concerned atm as fundal measurements can be inaccurate.. if still measuring big at 34 weeks then will being going in for growth exam and to chat through next steps!

I’m hoping for a water birth but if things go a different route I won’t be devastated.

Planning to finish up for work at 38 weeks, was hoping for two weeks rest beforehand ... if I make it to 40 weeks!

@DJBebe they don't offer any other routine scans after 20 weeks unless you're high risk.
I ended up having a scan yesterday anyway due to reduced movement. Baby is measuring perfect so I'm really pleased. He's still quiet today but I have my MW appointment today. It was supposed to be last week but she was on holiday.
Back in hospital tomorrow for further monitoring.
He's is in a super weird position so I'm hoping he'll move into a more comfortable position, both for me and him! His body is lying transverse with his head down pointing up! He's head has been down for months now so now I'm worrying over his body moving everywhere but his head has been wedged in the same place for about 10 weeks or so 😬😬😬
So I'll probably have another meltdown when I see my MW in a bit! 😂

DJBebe · 05/08/2020 20:27

@lockdownpregnancy i asked the hospital and they said the same, no scan after 36 weeks unless there is a risk.
Hope all is ok for you and the baby, it's good they monitor his movements. Did they say why the baby changed the position? Is it anything which trigger the position change? My MW says that at this stage the babies still have enough space to move around so I'm thinking that it there was any discomfort the baby would move to a comfortable position. Let us know how you are getting on.
@FreyaFirstTimeMum how are you feeling? Do you know what you are having?
Hope all goes well for you too.

Are any of you ladies familiar with Cosatto pram/carrycot?
I'm feeling so exhausted every day, I think is due to the numerous visits to the loo all night long (the max so far it's 11 times/night). x

@DJBebe all went well yesterday with my CTG but baby still isn't moving as much as he was so I'm back in on Friday for another check, then a scan next week to check my amniotic fluid and then a scan the week after and then an antenatal appointment early September.
Just nice to know they are keeping an eye on me and baby 🥰
They also said that if I'm worried then not to wait until my appointments but to just go in. I can't fault the MAU where I am. Such a lovely bunch of nurses and MW's!
And in my previous post I said I'd have a melt down and I did. I totally lost my shit with my MW and just sobbed! I think it's worry about going it alone until they allow my DH in. My MW has told me that if my current hospital don't relax their rules on partners being with you during established and not just active labour I can change to another hospital that does, so I'm now considering that too!

DJBebe · 06/08/2020 07:40

@lockdownpregnancy So happy to hear all went ok and the baby is fine. It is very reassuring they are taking good care of you and you are allowed to have a meltdown, nothing wrong with that.
Were are you living? The care they give sounds impressive. Hopefully they will allow our husbands from the start of the labour, i will be terrified not to have him with me but there are not to many hospital options in Exeter so I'll probably be stuck with their rules. 😔
Let us know how it goes. 🥰

@DJBebe I'm in the Midlands so I think because I live near to a major city they aren't taking any chances.
Back again this morning and my god it's warm! I forgot hospitals don't have air conditioning! 🥵
How are you feeling? You and baby doing ok?

DJBebe · 09/08/2020 10:21

I'm well thank you, but feeling super tired and breathless all the time. Because i work from home I don't move as much as i used to when I was in the office and i think this is not good necessarily.
This heat isn't helping either, yesterday felt so hot, even after 2 showers i was still feeling hot.
How are you tolerating the heath? Have the baby's movements improved?
The kicks i used to feel were stronger but it's been a few days since i feel the baby pushing more than kicking.

I'm due on the 25th. Anyone else having awful insomnia atm!? My body feels tired but I'm so wide awake it's frustrating. The hot weather doesnt help.

This is my 2nd baby, a girl this time. I also have a boy who will be 7 shortly after baby is born. Very different pregnancy - suffered really bad morning sickness until about 22 weeks or so this pregnancy x

lockdownpregnancy · 09/08/2020 17:29

@DJBebe he picked up a bit yesterday but he's gone quiet again today 😭 I have another scan on Wednesday to check the amniotic fluid around baby.
I've been getting breathless a lot too. I went up the stairs yesterday and thought I'd done a marathon!
How much weight have you put on to date? I started at 133lb and now 174lb! That's 43lb 😫😫😫
I'm really hoping I don't put on too much more but at the minute it's 3lb per week! I already feel like a whale!
@Cherryrainbow im struggling with sleep, so I feel your pain! And you're right, the heat isn't helping at all!
I think we just have to grit our teeth and just grind our way through these last weeks!
I'm truly hoping he makes an early September appearance! I really don't want to be like this for another 7 weeks! 😫

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 09/08/2020 18:19

@DJBebe it’s been hard if I’m honest! So tired and my body doesn’t feel like my own haha just can’t do the things I want to ... or involves very loud grunting! Having my first pregnancy during lockdown has probably tainted it! Also, next time we get pregnant going to try plan a non-summer baby.... pregnancy glow is definitely just sweat haha! So glad to only have another 5 weeks of work, even though I work from home!

How are you finding it atm?

Mine is awful maybe sleeping a disturbed 5 hours a night at the moment 😫

Oh and I’m having a girl!

DJBebe · 09/08/2020 20:02

@lockdownpregnancy what is a CGT? Not sure if it's anything related to the hot weather but my baby hasn't been as active as he/she used to be. I have an anterior placenta which probably doesn't help either if the baby changed position. But I'll probably call the hospital tomorrow as well.
What is the link between the amniotic fluid and the baby's movements?
I haven't weight myself lately but i started with 64kg and last week i had 74kg so I've put on 1.5 stone but I'm sure it is more now as i feel and look heavier.
@Cherryrainbow i feel very tired all the time and I've been sleeping a lot against the multiple visits to the loo during the night. I also tend to have a nap in the afternoon as well. But this heat is keeping me inside all day, haven't been for a walk or out of the house/garden for a week now.
Hope you both manage to get some rest, i find that breath exercises help me fall asleep quicker. x

@FreyaFirstTimeMum i feel this pregnancy robbed me of lots of experiences as well, we didn't even told everyone we know that we are expecting. I didn't want to announce it on FB so only told the very close of friends. 🙈
My night time visits to the loo tend to be anywhere between 6 to 11 times a night which is not fun at all and with 7 weeks left I'm wondering how much more I'm going to wake up a night. 🥴😄

Hi all, 34w +2 here and baby is breech, have any of you that are further along had babies turn after this? Thanks

lockdownpregnancy · 09/08/2020 21:22

@DJBebe I meant CTG not CGT 🤦🏻‍♀️ it's when they put the Dopplers
On your belly and strap you up for 30 minutes to monitor baby.
As he hasn't been moving like he normally I've had 3 this week and then scan Wednesday.
If there is enough amniotic fluid then he has the space to turn by himself, given that he's currently transverse. If there isn't enough amniotic fluid then he may struggle to turn on his own.
If your baby isn't moving as much I wouldn't wait until tomorrow I'd call the maternity unit now and get yourself in there and checked over. I'm sure baby is fine but you'll be worrying if you wait.
I don't envy how many times you get up to pee! I get up once at the minute, sometimes twice so I think I'm doing well so far!
@MrsN2121 you have plenty of time for baby to turn so try not to worry too much but so brace yourself for when it happens!
Mine turned the other week and I genuinely thought I was in labour i was in agony and I was nearly sick! It's manageable but it's not nice! Well, my experience wasn't anyway!

MrsN2121 · 09/08/2020 21:27

Thank you so much @lockdownpregnancy I've been doing all sorts of things to get her to turn but nothing so far. I'll brace myself for it!

lockdownpregnancy · 09/08/2020 22:22

@MrsN2121 your midwife will keep an eye on you anyway as you should be seeing her every two weeks going forwards.
Mine has to turn again, as he was engaged then turned and now transverse and now he's got to turn again to get back into position! Dreading it! 😂😂

Spark27 · 09/08/2020 23:07

Just seen this thread. 👋 I'm due on the 27th Sep with a girl. Got a DD who will be 3 a few days later. Absolutely shattered at the moment. Alternating between getting a full nights sleep (6/7 hrs) and then getting about 3hrs.
Still need to read back through all the messages, but hows everyone doing with the heat? I'm not enjoying it. Why did I decide to be heavily pregnant at this time of the year again?!

MrsN2121 · 09/08/2020 23:27

Oh no @lockdownpregnancy hopefully it won't be as bad as the first time!

MrsN2121 · 09/08/2020 23:28

@spark27 cold showers and lots of fans! Only way to survive.

DJBebe · 10/08/2020 07:23

@lockdownpregnancy , i hope all is well, haven't realised you went so many times to the hospital last week. Hopefully the next scan will put your worries at ease.
your baby likes to turn a lot by the sounds of it. Do they know what makes the baby turn?
I was just about to call the hospital yesterday evening when the baby started to wiggle (or turn, not sure but my whole tummy was moving from one side to the other) so i didn't call them in the end, but if it goes quiet again i will.

@MrsN2121 hope ot won't be too painful for you when the baby turns. When is your next MW appointment?

@Spark27 I'm having 3 showers a day at the moment and it's still not enough to cool me down. Last night me and my DH sat in the garden until 11.30pm which was actually very nice. It cooled me down and helped me fall quickly. I think I'll be spending lots of evenings in the garden from now on.

OP posts:
lockdownpregnancy · 10/08/2020 07:43

@DJBebe that's good baby had a wiggle 🥰
No clue what makes them turn and then turn again or whatever 🤷‍♀️ FTM so I'm learning as I go!
I just know mines an awkward lil bugger 😂
Saying that I've always been slightly awkward so I shouldn't expect anything less really 🤪
I was in so many time last week as they made me go in, as I had reduced movements in the Sunday, so they had me back on the Tuesday and he still was barely moving so they've put a plan in place for me which included my other visit last week, two scans and an antenatal appointment.
Whilst a bit of a pain in backside going back and forth to the hospital I'm also very happy with how well they are looking after me and keeping an eye on baby! Can't ask for much else really!
How did everyone sleep last night? It was so much cooler in my house I managed to actually sleep for a good few hours before waking up! 💪🏻

lockdownpregnancy · 10/08/2020 07:44

To add the scans and apt have been pretty booked. I haven't had them yet! That would be excessive 😂
