Hi I've just been told I have low Papp-a not told me what I measured at I am nearly 14 weeks. I was told to take 150mg of aspirin I am scared to take this due to the side effects it can cause and harm to the baby. Anyone in the same boat? Did u take the aspirin was everything fine?

Losing my mind googling everything. Thanks

I’ve been taking aspirin since 12 weeks, now 17 weeks! All has been fine.
It’s quite common 😊.

I've been taking 150mg every day since 12 weeks, I'm now 25 weeks and everything's ok Smile

I found out just over a week ago I have low papp-a and have scared myself silly with Google! I am taking 150mg of aspirin a day as I feel the only thing I can do is follow the medical advice I'm given and hope everything works out!
Sorry you are going through it too. It is frightening to read all the possibilities on Google!
Are they giving you additional growth scans later on?

Hiya it's awful they don't really give you much information either. I read not all hospitals test for it either. Yes I do have additional growth scans booked and one also looking for private scans for peace and mind.

I took aspirin from nine weeks. I too had low Papp A.

DS is now almost seven months old and thriving

Chefwifelife · 26/07/2020 09:00

I had low pappa-a with my first son and again in this pregnancy. It just appears that that’s normal for me. Eldest was born at 41 weeks and currently 35 weeks pregnant. I’ve just had extra growth scans and all looking fine and no other medication or intervention needed.

Aquicknamechange2019 · 26/07/2020 09:13

I've had low Papp-A in all my pregnancies. DCs 1-3 are currently all wrestling on the floor together, and I'm 13 weeks with DC4. If you are taking aspirin under medical supervision you will be fine.

Grumpy19 · 26/07/2020 21:13

Thanks @Aquicknamechange2019 that is reassuring x

strawberrycreamplz · 26/07/2020 21:54

Took aspirin with my daughter. She's fine. 32 weeks now. Taking with this one too and so far so good.

It really is lovely to read all your successful stories. Thank you all. Xx

I have just had a letter to say that I have low Papp-A. Die the gp or midwife contact to tell you to take aspirin or is it something you guys just did after your own research? Got myself all worried over here now.

Thanks in advance and glad I found this thread

CannonCaboodle · 26/08/2020 13:45

Stop googling and take the aspirin. Think about it logically. You wouldn't have been prescribed something harmful to you or the baby if the benefits did not outweigh the risks.

NelliePig · 26/08/2020 13:47

I had low Papp a, but never took any aspirin. Had extra scans every 4 weeks instead :) my little girl was 11 days overdue, 7lb 10oz and the placenta looked really healthy! So dont worry too much hun x

@Chefwifelife @Aquicknamechange2019 Even I had low PAPP A in my pregnancy and my son's AC(abdominal circumference) was on a lower scale.. I feel like his AC is still small when compared to other babies of his own age.. He s 20mo now.. Did anyone else face such issues with their LO growth?
