Rib pain breech baby - did it continue after birth?!

Hello. I has a c section a fortnight ago as my baby was breech and large, plus I had polyamniosis. Everything went well but after the initial post surgery pain receded, I realised my upper stomach is still really tender. Health visitor told me to ring GP so I did and she thought the ibprofen I've been taking may have started eating my stomachlining?! However, this evening my husband reminded me that I complained frequently of pain at the very top of my bump during pregnancy. Obviously my bump has deflated a lot but I think the pain and tenderness would have been in the same place. What is this?? Is it internal bruising from the baby kicking me? Will it go away on its own?! Has anyone else experienced this pain continuing post birth, and how long did it take to go away?! I'll be calling GP again on Monday if no better but am going to be worrying all weekend so was hoping someone else might have experienced this and could tell me more. Many thanks!

Congratulations on your baby! One of my twins was breech for most of my pregnancy. I had lots of tenderness under my bump too. It was still sore after giving birth but I don’t think for very long. (Maybe a couple of days?)

Having worried about many things since having children I wouldn't hesitate to call the GP on Monday if it hasn’t gone or your MW/OOH this weekend if it’s any worse. At the very least to set your mind at rest so you can enjoy your beautiful baby and also because you need to look after yourself when you have had major surgery and have a new baby!

In the absence of any fever or bad pain I wouldn’t worry too much this weekend though.

I hope you feel better soon. Flowers

Many thanks for replying! Yes, it's the fact that its lasted for 2 weeks that worries me... and I should not have googled it as the things that are coming up are terrifying me!! 🙈 I will try to put it out of my mind for the weekend though and call GP Monday if still painful. Twins must have been doubly hard so I feel like a bit of a wimp moaning about a but of soreness but it just doesn't seem right! Thanks :)

Stay away from google! It’s the worst. Especially if you are doing night feeds. You aren’t a wimp at all - you’ve had a baby and major surgery! I think you are right to check with the GP, but hopefully they will say it’s nothing.
