Name suggestions?

Good morning Mumsnet!

We have a girl due at the end of August.
We have been set on Daisy as a name since the day we found out she doesn't have a willy. My son is in love with the name Daisy, everyone refers to her as Daisy.

Daisy is going to be her middle name, but more than likely what we will all continue to call her (my sister has been Muppet since the day she was born).

We'd like a more grown up/professional/neutral sounding name for her official name. Alexandra has been the front runner for months now and we were pretty much confirmed. My son is Adam, and their last name is an A name, so it sounded good enough to me.

Now I just feel like four syllables are too many. Especially given a middle name and a hyphenated last name of 14 letters. It just all feels too much.

Can I get some suggestions for a pretty A name that will go with Daisy, but not leave my poor child writing out the entire alphabet anytime she has to fill in a form?

I think Alexandra Daisy is lovely. If it helps, my daughter is 10 6 5-5 for letters in her name and it is fine filling out forms.

Ada
Ava
Annabelle
Amelie?

Just seen about four syllabels - so ignore Annabelle!

Birdy1991 · 24/07/2020 11:09

Ok, that's actually 3 syllables* I have real bad baby brain Grin

I love Amelie so much but my DP really doesn't 😭 I've always wanted it as a name if I had a daughter.

I guess with Alexandra and Annabelle etc it's another name that's going to get shortened and turned into a nickname. She's already mostly going to be referred to by a nickname so having her called Alex/Lexi/Anne/Annie/Anna/Belle etc just seems like she doesn't have a proper name.

Or I'm Hella hormonal and entirely over thinking it.

Our little girl is Adeline Daisy 🙂

Ducky1900 · 24/07/2020 20:07

Why not just call her daisy if that's what you're going to call her?

MizMoonshine · 24/07/2020 20:52

@Flora20 Adeline Daisy is adorable!

@Ducky1900 it's very much a baby name. It doesn't translate well into a grown up/professional.
