Amniotic fluid leak

I'm 21 + 3 days pregnant and found out last night at the maternity triage that they could detect slight amniotic fluid when they did a swab.

I have stayed in hospital and am waiting to see the doctor. So far there's not been a big gush of fluid or a constant trickle and I haven't been in pain or anything.

Just wondered if anyone had been in this position? What happened? I am still waiting to see the doctor and no one is really telling me anything

I’m so sorry you are going through this. The doctors will come up with a plan for you but I would think it would be something along the lines of getting you as far as possible, 24 weeks & baby can start being treated. Antibiotics & bloods to check for infection but really it’s just a waiting game. There is absolutely nothing you can do except wait to see what way it goes.
