Waters trickling at 33 weeks

Hi. I'm currently 33+1 day and yesterday I found out my waters were trickling. I am naturally petrified of baby not staying out for another 3/4 weeks like they hope he/she will.

If baby does come early around the 33 week mark - does anyone have any experience of this? Has your baby Grown to be happy and healthy both physically and developmentally?

I have had one dose of steroids and my second lot will be tomorrow.

Thank you xx

Hello
Long-time lurker and first time poster here, but I felt the need to reply.

My first came early at 33w - I was given the steroids and she popped out completely fine.

We did have to stay in hospital for 5 days, just as a precaution but we were not in the NICU, just in a normal ward.

She's now 8 and is completely fine physically and developmentally.

Hope it all goes well for you x

My best friend was born at 32 weeks and is a completely functional and normal 31 year old Smilemodern medicine is amazing and they can do so much for premature babies now. Good luck to you and fingers crossed baby stays in a bit longer x

My waters ruptured at 32 weeks. I had steroid injection and was admitted to hospital. I wasn’t contracting so I was kept in until 36 weeks when they induced me. I just had to have daily antibiotics and blood tests to test for infection. She was 5lbs and perfect. Didn’t need any additional help at all. We were home 2 days later.

I was born 10 weeks early at 30 weeks and I'm absolutely fine 😊 and my niece again was born at 32 weeks and she is perfect too, no problems developing or mentally. Xx

My pal was born at 26 weeks in the 80s - he's neurotypical with no health issues and normal growth. Bit of a knobhead but I think that would've been the case anyway.
