I've just ordered one but seen some things about it being unsafe. Has anyone actually had any issues with it?

Hands down the best piece of baby kit we brought. I cleaned it regularly, changed the filter when required, used the proper filters and we had zero problems.

binkyblinky · 23/07/2020 22:24

Lifesaver

sohypnotic · 23/07/2020 22:24

Absolutely worth it, no issues. We bought a second one for upstairs - great for night feeds!

gamer33 · 23/07/2020 22:26

Would you say it's very noisy? Ideally want it in the bedroom.

Love it love it love it

Teacaketotty · 23/07/2020 22:29

It’s the best thing ever, such a faff making bottles the traditional way.

Change the filter and clean as needed and you won’t have any issues. I have one of the older models which has a loud beep when done but I don’t think the new versions, day and night I think it’s called, have this. Wouldn’t put me off putting it in the bedroom.

I bought two on Facebook for £30 and works perfectly. We’ve hit the year mark with DD so it will be going away shortly but will be saved for the next one.

alwaystiredalwaysgrumpy · 23/07/2020 22:30

I have one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom. The older version is a bit noisy, especially the beep, but I think the newer version you can turn the beep off. They aren't silent though (but it doesn't wake my toddler sleeping on the floor below).

Thismummyruns · 23/07/2020 22:34

No issues. The new one (day & night) is even better than the first PP.

bravefox · 23/07/2020 22:37

Absolute lifesaver - bought 4 years ago for dd1 and still going strong. As pp have said, look after it and change filter when asked and you won't have any problems. Ours lives on the kitchen counter.

PrayingandHoping · 23/07/2020 22:43

Follow the instructions and they are perfectly safe. Great piece of kit

splishsplashsploshsplishsplash · 23/07/2020 22:48

Amazing! Best bit of baby equipment we own!

iusedtoloveopalfruits1 · 23/07/2020 22:55

I have recently stayed at my parents house and had to make the bottles up each feed with the kettle. What a faff it is and it takes forever for the water to cool down just to add the powder then you need to cool it down again so it safe to drink. Never been so happy to be home and have a bottle ready to go in minutes as apprised to nearly an hour!

indemMUND · 23/07/2020 23:21

@iusedtoloveopalfruits1 Isn't the point adding boiling water to the powder, then cooling it down enough to drink?

LH1987 · 23/07/2020 23:33

I love it, no problems, not very noisy in my opinion!

namechange30000 · 24/07/2020 01:19

Used it twice and dd wouldn't take the milk. It was too cold for her.

2littleboyzmum · 24/07/2020 01:35

Used both ones for each of my two boys, my friend was unsure about it until she tried it and hadn't looked back since. If you keep it clean and use filters there's no reason not to have one...except the price but again you can get them second hand also.

@namechange30000 you can cancel it after the hot shot before the cold and just add another hot shot then stop the cold water early at the desired level. Our newer one the day and night we've done that a few times by mistake because on the first round you press it three times and one the second time (when hot shot is finished) it only needs pressing two times and have accidentally pressed it three times which has cancelled it and sent us back to the start. Another way to do it is to up the amount of water it'll add and just stop it before it's finished where the desired level is.

@gamer33 the first one is, the second one isn't.

BeMorePacific · 24/07/2020 09:26

It is such a god send! xx

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 24/07/2020 18:50

Love it! The issues came from people not following the cleaning instructions properly. Change the filter and run the cleaning cycles regularly and you’ll be fine.

I was combi feeding and I still found it a life saver. Can’t imagine doing full formula feeding without it.

I’m tempted to buy a second this time around so I have one upstairs and one downstairs!

Jarofflies · 24/07/2020 19:25

They are brilliant. Definitely get one if you are formula feeding.

ShyTown · 24/07/2020 19:29

Loved it, no issues. It’s not quiet but it’s not exactly noisy either.

Serethiel · 24/07/2020 21:00

We had one with DS and it was the best thing we bought. I kept it on my bed side table. Night feeds were a doddle with the perfect prep! Like others have said, clean it regularly and change the filters when asked with the genuine filters and you'll be fine :)
