Pregnant and going to restaurants

Has anyone been to any restaurants now that they've opened whilst pregnant?

I'm going tonight with hubby (27 weeks preg) and I'm so excited to be finally going somewhere that isn't the corner shop!! But loads of people have been asking me if they think I should be going and making me doubt it

Has anyone been yet and if so did you find it okay? I know there's some element of risk but where I live there's been no new cases for a while. I just want a bit of normality before baby arrives!

I've been to a restaurant since they opened again (was 29wk at the time) and found that I got a few disapproving looks but overall had a really good time. If anything I would recommend it especially since you don't realise how much of an impact WFH and not getting out much has on you.
Go and enjoy yourself Smile

I went out of lunch last week and it was so nice. We went midweek as we knew it would be quiet and did lots of hand washing and where we went was all table service. I am 12 weeks

I think use common sense - if it's overcrowded I wouldn't be happy.

Plus - I think do it now as aren't we supposed to isolate more from 28 weeks?

I'm only 16 weeks but been a few times now and felt very safe and it was so nice to get a roast cooked for me

MaryShelley1818 · 23/07/2020 17:30

Been several times, wouldn't even think twice about it tbh.
Shielding for people who actually have serious health conditions ends next week so pregnancy wouldn't be a concern.
Obviously I'd still follow guidance and be sensible.

Haven’t been yet but only because I haven’t organised- dying to go out out! 25wks pregnant.
Third trimester I understand we are to be more careful but not shield. Even the shielding night longer have to shield

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 23/07/2020 17:33

No longer

CoffeePleb · 23/07/2020 17:38

Nope, I haven't. I'm 39 weeks though, and the absolute last thing I'd want is to get covid when I'm about to go into labour Shock

I'm 28 weeks and went for breakfast for the first time today. We sat outside and there was hand sanitizer on the table. They also took our temperature when we arrived. I felt safe going but I would definitely be selective on where I went and how busy it was.

Hatscats · 23/07/2020 17:53

I’ve been to a cafe for breakfast and a pub for lunch, was fine! I’m 27 weeks.

SassyPants87 · 23/07/2020 18:06

Thanks ladies you've definitely put my mind at ease!! I just need to get out and go somewhere different otherwise I will literally go stir crazy!

Definitely going to see how busy it is but hoping as it's mid week it will be fine

Also I think how's the best time to go before it's gets too busy

Yes 2 restaurants and a cafe and another meal booked for Saturday and I can't wait 🤗
(I'm 34 weeks)

And don't feel like the risk is that high right now where I am. I wash my hands/use sanitiser and socially distance!

Feels completely safe and lovely to get some normality back.

Mental health is important too 🙂

MichelleOR84 · 23/07/2020 18:10

Yup 🙋‍♀️

I’m 23 weeks and have been out eating a few times already . No big deal . It didn’t feel weird to me nor did I get comments .

Dollywilde · 23/07/2020 18:12

Yep, I’m 37 weeks. We’re staying in after next week though as advice from my hospital is to self isolate as much as possible in the two weeks leading up to due date. Have managed to pack in a couple of very nice meals though - it’s going to be a while before I’m going out for dinner with just DH again so I’m determined to make the most of it!!
