Nausea?

Sho2207 · 21/07/2020 14:41

6+2 today and have had a few days every so often of feeling sicky.
All day today I've had a heaviness in my stomach and have felt like I've wanted to gag so much but at the same time constant hunger- whenever I try to eat i also fill up very quickly.

Would this be classed as nausea? I've never experienced pregnancy nausea so not sure what to expect.

Thanks 😊

Yup! Nausea comes in all different ways. Mine felt like the nausea you get when you're hung over. Thankfully for me i wasn't sick and it didn't ruin my entire life like some poor women!
I used to get waves of nausea depending on the smells around me. BBQ sauce made me want to be physically sick. I'm 30 weeks now and I still can't go near it!
You sound normal to me hun 🤢🤢

Sho2207 · 22/07/2020 10:31

@lockdownpregnancy
Thank you! Truth be told I've been wanting to experience nausea, haven't had many symptoms so have been worrying haha. Maybe that will change and I'll be praying it leaves as quickly as it came ☺️

I'm 10 weeks with my 2nd, and are very much the same - and I was the same with my 1st too.

I am a sight and smell kinda sickness girl.

If i see something (can be random things from cold food to toothpaste) I gag and feel sick, most of time I can stop the actual sick but it feels horrible. Smells are the same, I haven't been able to load/unload the dishwasher in weeks as the hot/cold food smell sets me off, as does potty training DD going to the loo.

It randomly comes in waves too. I was making the bed this morning and whoosh my gag reflex just went. It's so random and odd.

@Sho2207 lack of symptoms is not necessarily a bad thing. I barely had anything (still don't tbf!) for my first and second trimester and my baby is a happy chappy and cooking nicely 🥰
I know it's hard but try not to worry too much. Unless you start bleeding a lot or in serious pain (not talking ligament pain) then I'm sure your little one is fine.
The one thing I suffer with was my hormones! I was like a bi polar nut job in my first trimester and just used to cry over anything. And I mean literally anything! Sometimes I just cried for no reason and then I used to get even more upset because I didn't know why I was upset! Pregnancy is crazy! 🤪🤪🤪

Sho2207 · 22/07/2020 11:32

@lockdownpregnancy
I think I have a few symptoms I just don't really count them as symptoms because it's not sickness 😂 I had an early scan yesterday and the Sonographer said everything looked perfect, heartbeat was 125bpm I which is really good for 6 weeks apparently.

My hormones have been a godsend with this pregnancy, I'm just happy all the time 😂 it's almost like pregnancy has fixed the crazy lady inside 😂

@OnNaturesCourse
I'm fine with sight I think, smells get me though, but it's smells that I never really liked, they seem to have doubled in scent 🤢

@Sho2207 just give it time OP! I was fine and all happy up until 9 weeks and then that was it! The beast was unleashed! My poor DH didn't know what to do with me! 😂
Just brace yourself!
Tbf after you've had 'a moment' you look back and start laughing!
There have been some brilliant threads on here on how pregnant ladies have lost it over the smallest of things! It's so funny to read and reassuring to know you're not the only crazy person!!🤪
Glad to hear your early scan went well! 🥰🥰🥰

Sho2207 · 22/07/2020 13:47

@lockdownpregnancy 😂😂😂 oh god, I best tell the OH to prepare himself 😂 I need to read some of these threads.
Thank you! Hoping this little bean sticks, had a miscarriage in April so the anxiety is definitely heightened this time round.

How have you found it with everything going on at the moment?

To be honest I haven't been one to shout about my pregnancy or announce it in social media so it's been quite nice keeping it to myself.
I went through the last part of my first trimester and my second trimester in lockdown and I did find it really challenging.
Whilst I can't still give my friends and family hugs etc it has been a lot nice this last month and being able to go into the office and spend time with my loved ones instead of just face time!
I'm sorry to hear that you miscarries in April! I'm sure your rainbow baby is cooking nicely.
My anxiety was through the roof in my first trimester so I did pregnancy yoga and meditation to calm my mind as I couldn't go and physically lean on my usual support system other than DH.
If you start to get super scared I find talking is best, to whoever you feel most comfortable with. You gotta get it out! Even if it means crying uncontrollably for an hour! And before you ask, I'm referring to myself with that example! 😂😂😂

Sho2207 · 22/07/2020 16:00

@lockdownpregnancy
Aw yeah I can imagine it being difficult especially in the first trimester, glad it's all settled down a bit now.
I might look into some meditation to help, I love speaking to my partner but sometimes I feel he just doesn't understand.

I booked myself in for another private scan for around 8-9 weeks for some more reassurance because I just know in a weeks time I'll be back to worrying 😂
Oh I love a good cry, it really does help doesn't it 😂

@Sho2207 just get it out! There is no shame during pregnancy so have discovered! People are so much nicer and considerate to you it's great, especially once you start to show!
I have people actively staying away from me in shops because I'm pregnant it's great! 😂

Sho2207 · 22/07/2020 16:42

@lockdownpregnancy
I'm so looking forward to people being nice to me 😂 I work In retail and have nothing but rude, inconsiderate customers so this'll be new 😂

Did you ever suffer with hip/pelvic pain in early pregnancy? I feel it's too early to be ligament pain but not 100% sure, it's only on my right side and almost feels like I need a really good stretch

OP posts:
lockdownpregnancy · 22/07/2020 18:46

I've have had no pelvic pain to date @Sho2207.
I have the odd back ache here and there and my hips do hurt a little if I stay in one place for too long but nothing I would class as 'pain'.
I do get wicked Braxton Hicks though! I only used to get them every now and then but now I'm later into my pregnancy they are becoming more frequent, which I've been told is common! As a FTM I have no idea!
As long as my lil man doesn't show up for at least another 8 week I don't care and I'll deal with it haha! 🤪

Sho2207 · 23/07/2020 00:15

@lockdownpregnancy
Maybe it's just back/hip pain but because it's quite achy feels like it's moving around🤷🏻‍♀️ no idea. A warm bath sorted it out though 😌

I'd love to know what Braxton hicks feel like but I also wouldn't 😂 aw bet you're so excited to meet little one! Did you find out the gender?

OP posts:
lockdownpregnancy · 23/07/2020 07:31

Braxton Hicks is a bit of a strange one. I just feel like my entire stomach goes into spasm. A bit like when you get cramp, is probably the best way I'd describe them. Some last a few minutes but the other day I had them for around 20 minutes! They're pathetic compared to labour (apparently) so I'm not moaning! 😂
And we are having a boy 💙 I found out alone at my 20 week scan whilst my DH sat in the car! 😭 he's still not allowed to even step foot in the hospital or doctors with me. I've gone it alone for my whole pregnancy. Total shit but we understand. Just such a shame he's missed out on so much!
I'm just keeping my fingers crossed he can be with me in hospital when I go into labour and not just active labour and then get kicked out again like what's happening at the minute!
I'm contemplating a home birth if they aren't going to let him stay. I'm not due until end of September so I'm hoping things might be a bit more relaxed by then! 🤞🤞

Sho2207 · 23/07/2020 11:37

@lockdownpregnancy
Like a mini labour 😂 hopefully you'll get used to the feeling of them and labour won't be that bad for you 😅

It's awful isn't it, especially for first time parents, so daunting for us as well to do it all alone, but I do feel so bad for the fathers. When my spotting started with my miscarriage I had to go for the emergency scan alone whilst my partner waited in the car and although they didn't confirm miscarriage they did say I was two weeks behind which kind of gave me my answer. This time round I paid privately for a scan and thankfully they're still allowing you to have someone with you.

I hope it does change soon for your benefit

@Sho2207 thank you! We are very excited but terrified at the same time! 😂
I'll keep everything crossed you have a successful pregnancy! I'm sure your rainbow baby will be safe and well 🌈🌈

Sho2207 · 24/07/2020 09:43

@lockdownpregnancy
I feel the same 😂
Thank you, fingers crossed ☺️🌈

I'm 6+2 today and the nausea for the past week is unreal. Feel like I've had the worlds longest hangover! All I've done today is lay on the sofa and had a plain ham wrap every 3 hours 😂

Sho2207 · 25/07/2020 18:39

@ALew15
Congrats!
Mine hasn't been too bad thankfully, I'm trying not to worry so just counting myself lucky. 7 weeks tomorrow, I only start to feel rubbish when I get hungry but have also found I've really gone off food. I have two bites of something and feel full or just can't eat it

OP posts:
KB13 · 25/07/2020 19:23

@ALew15 that’s how I described it to my husband earlier, the worlds longest hangover 😂😂 I’m living off of butter on toast. My family are having dominoes tonight and it makes me want to cry because even the thought of it makes me want to throw up 😭😭

OnNaturesCourse · 25/07/2020 21:57

I had a pizza tonight, first time in this pregnancy. Baby rejected it about a hour afterwards...and forcefully too 😳 so that'll be a no to pizza for a while

Sho2207 · 25/07/2020 23:39

@OnNaturesCourse
Oh dear 😂 I had pizza tonight too, my body actually let me eat and enjoy it all so I'm glad I got something in my system. Even if it isn't the healthiest 🤦🏻‍♀️
