I'm looking for the experience from women who had growth scans all the way through there pregnacy? (Not just one as I know there not accurate) where they on point with the weight of the baby? I feel like little baby is a monster size baby but only mesuring 40th percentile and has followed this from 22weeks.. I have had scans every 2-3 weeks and am now 35+2. :)

Not at all for me, I had fornightly scans from 30 weeks as they thought baby was small, born weighing 9lbs 7oz!!

KLM19 · 21/07/2020 13:52

@Pukeymama see that's how I feel.. I can hardly get about and bump is massive but at 34+5 they said he was 5lbs 5oz! What were they estimating for you?

I had weekly from 16 weeks and he was pretty much bang on where they said he would be.

I had extra scans from 36 weeks as they were worried my son wasn't growing. At 39 weeks they said he was measuring at 6lbs 9oz so weren't worried anymore.

He came out at 42 weeks at 6lbs but with a big head and long legs (which is what they measure to predict weight).

@maryberryslayers see I've heard people say if u have scans from early like me and you they are more accurate..

I had them at 30, 34 and 38 (though almost 39 due to appointment availability). Tracked above the 95th centile for HC/AC/weight all through. His birth weight was a whole 9g different from the predicted weight! (4444g predicted, 4435g actual!)

KLM19 · 21/07/2020 14:08

@SockQueen spot on then lol!!!

@Figmentofimagination that's not to bad for a late on scan prediction.

I had growth scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks. The 36 week (35+6) one estimated baby at 6lb 15oz. DD was born 9 days later weighing 7lb 5oz, so it was pretty spot on.

Footlooseandfancy · 21/07/2020 14:11

Had one at 38 weeks - it was exactly right!

Waffle10 · 21/07/2020 14:17

Had fortnightly scans from 24 weeks - last scan was two days before DC was born, and weight was 2oz out from scan.

Metallicalover · 21/07/2020 14:17

I had one at 36 weeks and had baby at 37 weeks very accurate!

KLM19 · 21/07/2020 14:34

So seems overall very accurate!! The sonographer did say the equipment used now a days is really good!! I will just put the pains down to my PG/SPD and that my body is just not great lol...

im 31+4 and have had 2 growth scans and hes measuring above the 97th centile. If he carries on he's estimated to weigh just under 4.5kg - my BMI Is only 21 so quite big for me Confused I have polyhydramnios too.
I dont feel hes as big as hes measuring on scan, I think hes long more than chunky - fingers crossed.
My last scan 2 days ago estimated him to weigh 4lb13oz Shock

Maidmummy · 23/07/2020 07:49

I have growth scans every 2 weeks from 28 weeks as I have small babies, with DS3 they predicted just short of 6lbs at 36+4 which for him meant since the previous scan he had only put on 3oz in 2 weeks, week after I saw the consultant who decided to induce me, he was born at exactly 38 weeks weighing 5lb 9oz so for me it was way off. DS1 and DS2 were predicted to be 7 and half pounds at term but both were 11 days overdue weighing 6lb 14oz and 6lb 15oz so they have never been right for me x

Maidmummy · 23/07/2020 07:51

Forgot to add that every baby I have had have got smaller, 4th centile then 3rd then 2nd, now pregnant with number 4 and they are expecting it to be even smaller and are taking no chances and inducing at 36 weeks x

boymum4 · 23/07/2020 11:28

Pretty accurate for me, a scan at 36+6 estimated my ds weighed 6 lbs 11 and he was born at 37+2 weighing 7 lbs 1 😊

Redkite11 · 23/07/2020 14:02

I was told my baby would be huge with a big head and abdomen. However, he came out a tiny baby and perfectly proportioned. It's hard for them to get accurate measurements from scans as the baby is curled up rather than flat and they have to use the ultrasound to find the right angle. A doctor told me that the scan measurements are not very accurate.
