Acid reflux - help!

It’s been so awful this pregnancy and getting worse. Gaviscon isn’t helping. Has anyone tried Omeprazole that’s helped? How often did you take it?

I take omeprazole daily first thing in the morning and it’s completely stopped all my acid reflux.
Similar to you gaviscon wasn’t helping, after 5 days of trying gaviscon my doctor suggested trying omeprazole and I’ve not looked back.
I hope you get some relief soon, I know how horrible it is!

Omeprazole has been a massive game changer for me! Doctors prescribed me it at 17 weeks after all the weeks before trying out lots of different anti sickness tablets that never worked and being practically bed bound from being so ill from throwing up so much constantly! I thought I had heartburn and pregnancy sickness but turns out I have acid reflux. Within 20 minutes of taking the tablet I feel so much better, I take them when I feel like I need to, usually every other day in the afternoon

I swear by peptac OP, can get it from your pharmacy on minor ailments, I found gaviscon ect didn't work for me but peptac is amazing! Good luck x

Another omperazole fan here. I was struggling to even sip water without it. I take one every morning and have had heartburn once in the 3 months since.

Gaviscon didn't work for me either. Doctor prescribed me omeprezole and it really did help, although my acid reflux went in the second trimester so I stopped taking it. Getting awful indigestion again in the third trimester, so might start taking it again.

Oh my gosh - I took a tablet at lunch time and haven’t had it for the rest of the day, even laying down in bed! Game changer Smile

Gaviscon is crap when you have acid reflux! Might work for a bit of indigestion/heart burn, but acid reflux for me personally is on a whole other level of pain. Omeprozole is fantastic, works about 20 mins after having it and the releif is amazing!

Another one who can vouch for omeprozole being a total gamechanger! I got it at 16 weeks and only wish I'd known it could help so long before that.
I take one every night lsat thing before bed and sickness all day has completely gone x
