Twins?

So, I recently found out I was pregnant about 4 weeks ago. I booked an early scan as I was super excited!

All was well but as she was wrapping up, she noticed what she thought was another one in the same sac! She sounded pretty convinced. (Also from I've found out I was pregnant I was convinced it was twins, don't know why, I just was🤣).

So she done an internal scan to confirm sorry if tmi! But couldn't find another through the internal scan, she then thought there wasn't another one!

She did make a comment though to try not to be surprised for when I go to my 12 week scan and there are two!

Has anyone had this before and then there turned out to be 2?

I just don't know what to think. I am 7 weeks and 5 days I know it's still pretty early on and the fact I've to now wait 4-5 until my routine 12 week scan, not knowing whether it is twins or not! 🤣🤣

I have mono-mono twins and the unfortunate dark reality is that in something like 90% of cases one twin will absorb, or 'eat', the other twin in the early weeks when they share the same sac. So it's very possible there was two, but now there isn't.

@lukasiak yes I've heard of this. The only reason I didn't think it was this is. She saw another one on the tummy scan, and a few minutes later she couldn't see the other one on a internal scan. I was just wondering if the other could have been hiding as I had gotten up, went for a wee and then had the internal scan!

Then she couldn't see the other one.. but still said to not be surprised if there was another in there at the 12 week scan .
