Hello just a bit of advice really ,

I've just found out I'm pregnant. It was a lovely surprise 🤣

My question relates to working . I work in a retail environment where I come into contact with a lot of people on a daily basis. I wear a mask and gloves but I'm wondering how safe it really is for me to be going to work ?

I've tried to find out what the government guidelines say and all I can see if something about vulnerable people can go back to work by 1st August and pregnancy classes as vulnerable .

But it is giving me a lot of anxiety as I no the scientists are not entirely sure how COVID 19 effects pregnancy. Because as like everything else we are all new to this situation.

Thank you in advance

One midwife said it, so it must be true 🙄
She clearly knows better than RCOG...

32 weeks pregnant here and I spoke to my midwife about this, I actually told her I was glad to be back in the office in the hopes my last few weeks fly in. She didn't tell me I should be shielding. She just said to make sure I was following SD and washing my hands plenty etc

Did you want me to ask her to take a census among the other midwives?

Just thought I'd let you all know in case it's helpful to anyone else in a similar situation .

My work has sent me home and said that it is not safe for me to be at work due to covid and I will be paid in full till my baby is born March 2021. I don't live in one of the spiked areas either.

I think the managers decided that they would rather pay me full pay till after the babies born than risk something happening to the baby due to covid under their roof . Even if the chance is minimal

I do work in a big retail environment with at least 50 staff in at one time and a lot of customers so I think they decided it would be impossible to keep me socially distanced from everyone .

Aww that’s good & even better that you’ll be paid in full. I need to provide documentation once I hit 28 weeks so that I can be placed back on furlough until end of October. What documentation my work require I’m not quite sure...
