Pregnancy

hyperemesis second time round

Hi.
I'm pregnant with #2 and 5 weeks now. However when I was pregnant with dc1 I was incredibly nauseous way earlier (before af was due). Then went on to being hyperemesis up until about 16 weeks (most agonising time ever). Anyway, with dc1 I remember being 10 dpo and my clearblue was2-3 weeks so knew the hormomes were strong. This time round I've had no symptoms at all and judging by clear blue tests the hcg levels seem average and accurate. I dont feel any nausea or sickness which really hit me early with dc1.

Has anyone experienced this at all and not had hyperemesis the second time round? Or at least not as bad? Thanks 😊

Hey, I had it really bad with my first up until 35 weeks. Just standard morning sickness with my 2nd that tapered off towards the end of the first trimester. I’m now pregnant with my 3rd and dear god it’s like my first. I’m dreading the next 30 odd weeks but just have to keep reminding myself the baby at the end is worth it 😬

Had it from 5 weeks with my first, 9 weeks it hit with my second and 6/7 weeks with this pregnancy. The first 2 was until birth with the occasional good day. So I expect the same again. Early control has been key to not suffering as bad.
The PSS website has resources to take to the gp to get a care plan in place early so if it hits you all know exactly what to do to try and keep ahead of the worst of it 😊

@Mynotsoperfectlittlefamily @KB13 thanks both. So I think its the understanding that it can develop anytime in the first trimester whether your hormones are high to begin with or not. I'm going to look at the pss website and see if I can put anything in place. I'm praying with everything in me i don't have HG again. I'm one of the lucky ones that it tailed off in the second trimester. Thanks 😊

Horrific pregnancy with my first but with my second the knowledge of what Meds worked without having to experiment really Kept me out of hospital and meant I had some quality of living I didn’t get with my first. Get your meds as soon as you feel sick before if you can xx

@HGwarrior I got some cyclizine to start off with from my doctor in preparation. Thanks all. No nausea yet. X
