Always bollocks. Ignore.

Never found it to be accurate - I even had a scan that put my daughter at 6lb at 38 weeks and she was born 3 days later at 9lb 4oz...

I wouldn't give it a second thought if it's only a one off measurement. See what they say this week as that gives you a much better indication of your own babies growth.

sel2223 · 19/07/2020 18:07

Also breech at 28 weeks is no big deal, I think it's from 34 weeks that they really pay attention to that and 37 weeks when they start going through options.

Hopefully the appt and scan this week will give you a lot more answers

Nelbert19 · 19/07/2020 18:14

My bump has consistently measured 4-5 weeks ahead, above 100th centile, but 2 growth scans put baby at 75th centile

Hoping the scans are more accurate or I’ll be competing with you for that magazine cover story!

Cherrytangfastic · 19/07/2020 18:21

My bump always measures a few weeks small but several growth scans have assured me that I'm cooking a +95th centile giant!! Fundal height seems very random.

Also mine was breech until 35 weeks. I was concerned that he wouldn't turn (especially as he's big), but he managed it without me noticing. Try not to worry Smile

HogDogKetchup · 19/07/2020 18:21

Are you seeing diff midwives? I think they take the measurement from different points sometimes.

Avearage · 19/07/2020 18:34

At 30 weeks he was still breech midwife was like oohhh yep definitely head....... definitely feels all head under boobs still😂😂 I was measuring 97th at 28 weeks 😬 on growth scan and above for the tape measure ... Actually with my other babies the tape measure has been virtually bang on weeks so was just wondering how others find theres all add up..... Will be interesting to see once baby is born how on the mark they were 😂😂

I’m going though this at the mo.

33 weeks. Midwife says 90th centile, growth scan says 2nd centile Confused

I don’t know who to believe.

Lemonysherbet · 19/07/2020 18:43

I was always measuring big. Baby was 6Lb 4 at my 34 week scan. He came out day after his due date (I was induced) at 10lbs on the nose!

WeeScottishWife · 19/07/2020 19:54

One midwife (I think my 2nd measurement) put the baby as being SO outside the lines. She wasn't worried, and sure enough at the next appointment, with someone different, it was looking much more sensible! I've now changed hospital trusts to somewhere where I've seen a community midwife for all 3 of my most recent appointments, and she's plotted steady growth inside the lines of the chart over those appointments, so I'm not fretting anymore :)
