Itchy hands and feet pregnancy

I'm around 28 weeks now, the last couple of nights I have had really itchy hands and soles of feet. Has anyone else had this?
I did a quick Google search and came across ICP but I don't think the itch feels as bad to class it as severe? I'm trying to avoid calling triage for this, incase it's a minor and common issue.
Thanks for reading Smile

Can you just phone your midwife? I think they do a blood test to check about icp. I itched a lot, everywhere but the hands and feet earlier in my pregnancy and it diagnosed as viral but I did get it checked.

Ring your maternity unit and tell them. Sounds like cholestasis. I had it both pregnancies. Can cause problems. Please call now.

Midwife didn't give me her number and gp surgery is closed today. I do have the local hospital triage number, I can give that a try.
Thank you for your reply

I don't seem to have any itching during the day, only when I'm nodding off to sleep?

Definitely sounds like the start of cholestasis, I've had it both pregnancies and it doesn't have to be severe itching to be diagnosed. Nothing too scary, will probs just need monitoring weekly to check your bile acids don't go too high. Ring community midwife or maternity assessment unit and they'll sort you out some blood tests 😊

Thank you everyone for your replies. I will call triage in the morning as I'm going for my 28 bloods anyways. I don't have anyone to watch the kids tonight if they ask me to go in.
Hopefully it's nothing to worry about

I have had mildly itchy hands and feet and rang the midwife to be sure, they had me in the same day for a blood test to check ICP. It was negative. I would definitely get checked out to rule it out, it can’t hurt and it’s quite serious I believe. It may be nothing but best to be sure? 🙂

Thanks everyone. Got results today, one of the test was borderline, so I'm having a retest tomorrow
