When should I expect them to materialise? I'm 29 weeks with quite a big bump and I haven't got one yet! I had really expected them by now, but I don't want to get too hopeful that I've avoided them! When did yours develop in your first pregnancy?

After I gave birth.

They’re white and small. I hardly notice them and you’d have to look super close to see them.

You may not get them. (:

ew1990 · 17/07/2020 21:37

I never got them on my stomach. But I did all across my thighs although I never noticed them untill after DD was born.

jdy123 · 17/07/2020 21:37

I'm thinking same thing I'm 38 weeks and none yet but don't wanna get hopes up cause I've heard of people getting them in the last week only 😬

Pacif1cDogwood · 17/07/2020 21:39

Never got a pregnancy stretch mark (4 DSs, pregnancies to 42 weeks).

All my stretch marks stem from my teens when I quite suddenly grew curves... Hmm

Whether you'll get stretchmarks or not depends entirely on your connective tissue - bastard genetics. There's truly nothing you can do to affect them.

ChangeOfName2020 · 17/07/2020 21:46

Didn't get a single one up until my 41st week. I went overdue and a few sprung up out of nowhere Angry

If she'd have been on time I may have got away with none! Gggrrrr

eausolovely · 17/07/2020 21:53

It's meant to be genetic for the most part I think, I'm 28 weeks and I already have some but I have them everywhere from just growing up so always knew I would get them. Honestly I wouldn't be too concerned, the ones I have on my hips and boobs don't bother me at all and they fade away to almost nothing so I'm sure my belly ones will too. Just one of the many changes of pregnancy I guess haha

Crimblecrumble1990 · 17/07/2020 22:06

Only got stretch marks in my last week of pregnancy and I was overdue. They looked a lot worse once I had given birth too. Never been keen on my tummy anyway so no bikinis are no great loss to me!

Havlerr · 17/07/2020 22:46

I’m 36 weeks and started developing some last week, they’re mainly on my hips and the very bottom of my bump. They’re really dark and angry looking Sad but I just keep reminding myself it’s genetic and no matter how much oil or lotion I put on them, they’re here to stay. I’m hopeful they’ll become white when they’re not so new anymore

Sanch1 · 17/07/2020 22:49

Mine appeared the day after I had DD1 😱 but they were very small and low down.

DramaAlpaca · 17/07/2020 22:51

You might not get any at all. I didn't, despite three pregnancies and being enormous.

Daisysandviolets · 18/07/2020 05:02

I'm 30 weeks and I don't have any on my tummy but I have just had some appear on hips and thighs but bio oil is keeping them at bay! Xx

bluemoon2468 · 18/07/2020 11:04

@eausolovely I have quite a few on my hips and thighs from puberty and my mum has her fair share from pregnancy, so I always assumed I would get quite a few. Seems like it's still early days for me though as a lot of women get them quite late on, so I won't get too hopeful!

I have a couple on one side of my bump (where her shoulders/back tend to be) & they didn't show up until around 35/36 weeks. I'm now at 38+2.

LuckyC27 · 18/07/2020 21:28

I had loads on my hips from 21 weeks nothing on my stomach until around 31 weeks - now 36 weeks and they go up to my belly button. Weirdly left side is worse on both the stomach and hips for some reason. I had quite a few during puberty so was prepared to get them and have been using bio oil/creams since early pregnancy, drinking lots of water etc. My best friend didn't get any and she carried a lot bigger than me so think its really down to genetics.

Shelby30 · 18/07/2020 21:28

Well I've had 2 and don't have any stretch marks. Fingers crossed u her lucky too!

Megan2018 · 18/07/2020 21:31

I didn’t get any but neither did my mum, it’s genetic I think. But definitely too early to tell!
