Hi all,

I'm on the lookout for a nice playmat/gym with toy arch etc for my baby girl when she arrives. I don't want anything too garish however I don't want it too bland that it won't be stimulating enough for baby. Looking for a nice middle ground.

Does anyone have any good recommendations? X

Most are pretty garish. Babies have a short attention span, and are more easily engaged by things with very high contrast.... Nuby do some slightly toned down stuff, but it’s still pretty highly coloured.

I've gone for this one from ikea for our baby girl

It might be a bit garish depending on your taste but we wanted bright colours, stimulation etc rather than one that fit in with a certain muted colour scheme.

We had the fisher price one, very bright but baby loved it and was still in use until just before 9 months when crawling round the floor was more appealing.
