Really lovely clothes for a baby boy

Hi, just looking for suggestions. I’m due in December and since I am 40 had the harmony test, to my delight baby appears healthy and he’s a little boy!

I’ve been looking in supermarkets during my weekly shop and while I see lots of girls clothes to my taste I can’t see many boys clothes I like. I know a lot of white babygros will feature at first but it would be nice to have a couple of lovely things especially since he’ll be here before Christmas.

Thanks.

Trotters is lovely and as PP said very “Prince George” but it’s pricey! They do have a sale on now though - have a look at this www.trotters.co.uk/products/little-harry-smocked-bubble

I liked brights for my boy so orange, green, red a lot. I liked stripes, stars and block bright bodysuits. I had some Frugi prints like dinosaurs ( but they are cut for cloth nappies so generous)! And Mothercare did a great bright range with Jools Oliver called little bird but that is no more ( and quite retro.)

If you like Prince George the style is often called Spanish, but it will be expensive as they grow so fast.

Having had a girl second time I think girls look girly in lilac or pink and that leaves pretty much all the other colours for the boys.

Nice boys themes -
dinosaurs
Robots
Cars
Tractors
Trucks
Birds
Stars
Space
Jungle
Safari
Farm
Stripes
Dots / spots

I found that TU at Sainsbury's were the best for DS (now age 2.5). Really cute stuff that were obviously baby clothes. Lovely patterns, cute little animals and bottoms with pictures on the bum!
I found Next awful personally, far too grown up and lots of slogans.

I've been buying little Spanish outfits for my little one, there's a lovely website called pittapattababy that do lovely ones. Ive getting some new lovely traditional outfits from ebay too.

TU is my favourite supermarket brand for boys. My son has had some great bits from there and they wash well. I also love love Zara clothes - particularly their toddler clothes - for both genders and next do some lovely more interesting boys clothes. My son also has quite the collection of Fred and Noah leggings. So much more comfortable than jeans and I love the prints and colours.

@Morred love a bit of babipur, it's good for so many things!

It's worth searching for non bleached cotton sleep-suits / baby grows as well @thelonelymoatedgrange

Tartine et Chocolat (at Harrods and on their website) and Trotters - both on sale at the moment.

I got some cute bits from mamas and papas (expensive but cute) and I just rummage through the baby sections of every shop that I go in, found a few nice bits in Asda but there’s still a lot of summer clothes in there so you have to look at the back because people hide the cute stuff😂

I love baby boy clothes!

NEXT always has a really lovely range with lots of different choice.
John Lewis
Boots (mini club)
Jojo Maman Bebe
Joules
Cath Kidston

Oh and Boden

I felt the same way about having all factors etc on boys stuff and wanted animals mostly so we could easily use them if we have other kids. Frugi have a big sale on at the moment, so have a look there - I love their animals. Can't go wrong with John Lewis babygros. M&S baby stuff is lovely and less gendered than their stuff for slightly bigger kids - lovely things with whales and tigers on. Lindex have some really fun bright prints on babygros.

I really like mini club at boots

@itisntfriday0000000000l watch out for their sales and clearence. I've got leggings and a few baby grows for a fraction of their original price. It's always worth a look and they do them percent often as well even off the sale items. They wash amazing and are just so we'll made, worth getting less things sometimes that are quality, I'd take three baby Mori sleep-suits over 10 cheap ones anyday

ChampooPapi · 17/07/2020 08:27

*10 percent

Louise0701 · 17/07/2020 08:30

Try Jacob Matthews

Louise0701 · 17/07/2020 08:30

Oh and M&S have 3 for 2 on lovely little cotton tops and leggings. They do a lovely pastel green colour in them and the blue is nice too

nattiee · 17/07/2020 09:11

Next have some lovely baby clothes for boys. I could spend so much in there

BertieBotts · 17/07/2020 09:19

Baby boy clothes are a bit like baby boy names - you have to really hunt for the good ones! Girls' clothes/names are too easy in comparison - you can look at a selection and it's likely you'll like some of them. But a lot of boys' clothes are very polarised in style which means people tend to find more to dislike than like.

I have two boys and I've really come to enjoy the hunting aspect of it! I love finding little gems at a second hand sale or in a children's clothing shop, and mixing and matching things to make little cute outfits.

With your preferences I'd look at navy blue, red and white, maybe a bit of bright yellow or muted green. That will give you a bit of a colour palette, still quite classic, clearly "boy" but not as dull as greys and browns and khaki.

Also in newborn sections there are a lot of pastel yellow with ducks for some reason, which is always a cute combination.
