If you are the same as me it means nothing! I was measuring 42cm at 34 weeks 3 weeks ago! Went for a growth scan and baby is measuring average-just above 50th centile and fluid level was fine. I saw one of the doctors after scan who basically said some people carry big and being short (4’11’’) doesn’t help! I have had 3 gestational diabetes tests as continually measuring big each one has been fine I think I just carry with a big bump. I was the same with my first and he was a 7lb despite me looking like I had a gym ball stuffed up my top Grin the tape measure does not love me!

You might be carrying extra fluid. I was measuring slightly bigger but delivered at 39 weeks and baby was 7lb 13oz despite the growth scan saying I was expecting well over 8lb to come out.

The measurements taken by the midwife aren't always the most accurate as they can be affected by baby's position and things mentioned above like extra fluid or the way you carry your bump. Just keep an open mind and see how your scan goes

If it's suddenly increased it could simply be that the baby has changed position and is sticking out more, also has it been the same midwife measuring you? With my last I found that one midwife would always measure me on the higher side and another would measure me small. I ended up having a growth scan and there was nothing wrong, it was just the way my baby was laying and that fact I'm small so she just stuck out more than normal, she was born 7 pound 10 so defo my big bump did not mean a big baby xx

Yes same Midwife doing the measurements. That's put my mind at ease Thanks girlies! I have a scan next week but they have still sent me for one tomorrow.. they will be sick of the sight of me at the hospital lol... will keep you guys updated tomorrow. Hopefully will get an earlier answer if my placenta has moved yippeee...
