Failed Sweep

Hi Ladies,
I was just after some advice/reassurance on failed sweeps.
I'm 40+4 today FTM and went in this morning for my first sweep, the midwife said she wasn't able to properly perform the sweep as my cervix was very far back, she managed to 'touch the tip' but wasn't able
to 'get her finger in' so successfully perform the sweep.
She has said that she won't be doing any further sweeps now as there is 'no point'.

I'm pretty gutted as she pretty much made out that nothing will happen now until my induction date when i will be 41+3. Due to the current situation i will need to be in there on my own without my partner and for that reason i want to avoid induction as much as i can.

What are the chances of me still going into labour naturally, anyone have any positive stories or natural labour after a failed sweep?

Mmm I’m surprised that was her advice.
A lot can change, if your baby is engaged then you are definitely capable of going into labour naturally!
Keep active (if you can), get your oxytocin boosted, and just enjoy your last few baby free days.
My 1st smear wasn’t successful, but they could do one a few days later xx
