Coil removal

Jus wanted some advice.

I had the coil removed on the 10th June. I was supposed to start my periods at the end of June but haven't. I have read online that after removal of coil it can take a while for the periods to start which is fine.

Only thing is Iv had a dark coloured discharge today which I thought is spotting but not quite sure.

Could I be pregnant ?

Iv already taken a pregnancy test over a week ago just to check due to not starting my periods and it was negative. So can I be pregnant or is it jus side effects of having coil removed.

You definitely could have ovulated this month. I would wait to test a couple of days after the day you spotted. Wait even 4 days if you can. Let me know how you get on. :)

@Helenknowsbest I did the pregnancy test this morning but it was negative.

So I'm very confused. Have I done it too early an also would it make a difference that the plastic cup I used to put my wee in was slightly wet with water an not fully dry.

@Georginamummy hmm its hard to say. When I got my coil removed I dont remember having spotting but doesn't mean it won't be normal to spot too. I would wait a week and maybe test again. If its negative, I'm sure your period will show up this month. Were you ttc?

Lulubon · 15/07/2020 22:51

There's deffo a possibility you could be pregnant. I had my coil out and conceived that week- I didn't have a period in between. I'd wait a weeks or so and try testing again x

Georginamummy · 15/07/2020 23:36

@Helenknowsbest thanks for replying. Yes me an DH are now TTC so I'm eager to know if I'm actually pregnant lol. Also I have noticed I'm weeing a lot more than usual. But maybe I'm just overthinking it an getting ahead of myself haha

@Lulubon let's hope I am! I was due to start my periods end of June but nothing yet. I just had a very dark discharge yesterday so thought maybe I'll start my periods but literally nothing at all today. An test was negative so quite confusing. Will wait a week fingers crossed

I’ll have my fingers crossed for you. I’d wait at least a month from when you had it removed to when you test to be sure. I had a negative test then a very positive test the following week x

Helenknowsbest · 16/07/2020 06:34

@Georginamummy @Lulubon its funny because with this pregnancy I honestly had symptoms for days and still getting bfn's. Until about 13 dpo I got the bfp. You could be pregnant but might need a few days for hcg levels to rise. Good luck x

Georginamummy · 16/07/2020 08:17

@Lulubon yes it's been a month since having it removed. Il have to be patient and try do another test in a weeks time an hopefully it's a

I have been weeing a lot more than usual which is weird. Or maybe it's in my head because I feel I'm pregnant haha

I'm sorry to hear @Georginamummy
Our bodies play tricks on us, the spotting you had was probably a very light period. You should buy some very cheap ovulation tests from amazon. This is what I used

www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07NRYVLVK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_VUTeFbK9Q4F6M?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Any others would do but at least if you're unsure when your period was due, these type of tests can give you an indication of when you'll be ovulating.

Love to hear how you get on. All the luck!

Lulubon · 18/07/2020 13:01

I was about to suggest the same as @Helenknowsbest try starting to track ovulation- there's a chance your body didn't ovulate this month due to the coil removal it can take a while to get to a normal rhythm
Hopefully next month will be your month x

Georginamummy · 18/07/2020 14:40

@Helenknowsbest @Lulubon Awww thanks you guys I really appreciate your responses. I read online it takes a while for periods to get back to normal after coil removal. It can take up to 3months.

Il definitely get them ovulation kits you suggested and see how I go.

Il keep you guys updated fingers crossed !

Lots of hugs xx

Yeah I think it's unusual to get pregnant straight away with the coil!
Good luck with everything- you'll get your baby soon I'm sure xx

Helenknowsbest · 11/08/2020 09:13

Hey @Georginamummy how's it all going? Fingers crossed for you x

Starburst12 · 11/08/2020 09:23

Morning @Georginamummy, I had my coil taken out in the middle of November and I didn’t get my first period until 1st jan! I kept taking tests as it took so long to come, I was so confused.
I then ended up getting my BFP on 25th Jan! I conceived on 15th January. So it didn’t take me long at all!
