Baby number 2

In your opinion when is the best time for baby number 2? Would love to hear people's opinions/experiences.
Torn between wanting them to have a small age gap so they are close or waiting till my son is older and more independent.

In all honesty I never think there's a perfect time. I have an 11 month old and just found out im pregnant with num 2. It will of course be so hard but they will be so close.

I started trying after my daughter turned a year... 4 rounds of IVF later I now have a 5 1/2 year old and a 2 week old! Not the age gap I planned but its soo nice. My daughter was so involved and excited throughout the pregnancy and now totally adores her little brother. She is so helpful and also independent so doesn’t need constant attention when I feed etc. I think all age gaps have pros and cons. When she goes back to school in September I’ll have time with just him, which I had with my daughter when she was a baby x

I currently have a 2.5 year old and a newborn and im finding it quite tough. Toddler just isn’t quite there to be more independent/understand be quiet, gentle etc and it’s very full on. But every child is different. I have a very energetic toddler!

We started ttc when dc1 turned 1. Fell pregnant when he was 18mo so had a 2y4m age gap. Worked well for us! It did help that ds2 is the most chilled out, easygoing baby ever.
