Hi Girls
Has anyone had a private scan at 8 weeks and can share how it went?
I’ve booked one and I’ll be around 8 weeks 4 days xx

It's a good point in the first trimester to have one. You should see a heartbeat and more of a baby shape.

I've had an EPU scan with this pregnancy - thought I was 7.5 weeks pregnant but was actually 8.5 and I found what you could see on the screen, together with the heartbeat, really reassuring.

I had one at 7.5 weeks and wish I never did. I saw a heart beat and was reassured everything was fine, which I think made it even worse when I miscarried the day before my 12 week scan. In hindsight I would rather not have seen the heart beat, but I know everyone is different.

If you are going to have a private scan 8 weeks is a good point to do it. If you do it any earlier baby may be measuring smaller (it’s so hard to know your dates for sure!) and you don’t want the extra panic. For me it’s a great stage to be reassured but everyone is different x

@loveacupoftea18 @Britannah thank you 😍 hopefully there will be more of a baby shape then xx

I've been having them almost weekly since 6 weeks due to IVF and high risk pregnancy - weeks 6 and 7 just added to my stress levels - if I had a choice I'd probably wait until 8 or 9 weeks

I've previously had a missed miscarriage which was identified at the 12 week scan so I'd never wait that long though

I had one around then and really glad I did. Managed to see heartbeat and confirm dates. It made me relax a little until the next scan as wasn't really having any symptoms to make me 'feel' pregnant at that point.
