Bottle recommendations

Currently looking at bottles and torn between Avent, Tommee Tippee and MAM.

Any thoughts/recommendations appreciated!

I haven't used mine yet but I bought the MAM and Tommee Tippee ones but the anti colic ones with various sized teats (really slow, slow and medium)
They all come with medium flow teats so I ordered the slow ones separately.
The anti colic is an absolute must according to every mom I've ever spoke to!
We shall see in a couple of months!
I'd also shop around! I got mine from amazon as they were a lot cheaper than getting them direct

I hadn't thought of getting more than one type, I thought that might confuse the baby but maybe not...

Are you thinking of mixed feeding? Or fully formula feeding?

If you want to do a bit of both then get something like Tommee Tippee closer to nature where they have to open their mouth nice and wide as this makes it easier to switch.

Dr Browns were the best ones I found. A bit fiddly to clean and put together but you get used to it quickly

Really liked the mam teats, much preferred to Tommy tippee

First timer here.. so far we've had recommendations from two friends and both swear by Dr Browns.
My best friend's sister had a baby recently. They used Tommy Tippee bottles and baby had terrible colic. They went to see the GP and he recommended that they switch to Dr Browns

We used MAM bottles- we tried the Tommy tippee bottles initially but he didn’t get on with them or the Dr Brown ones. Don’t waste money of buying a big set as you may have a tricky baby like mine (he had both a tongue tie and upper lip tie). Maybe get a couple of each and see which your baby prefers.

I haven't really come across Dr Browns, will have to take a look...

If you are FF only, choose the ones that clean & sterilise the easiest. With MAM they can be sterilised in the microwave, and due to the size of the teat, and that they come apart completely, they wash thoroughly.

That is a massive bonus with the MAM bottles, being able to sterilise in the microwave!

If only formula feeding then the Tommee Tippee ones are a bit annoyingly wide. They didn’t fit in the chiller compartment of my change bag or the thermal bag. And it’s a bit hard for baby to drain the dregs of the bottle.

We use Nuk. I like that they come in a glass format (and plastic if you prefer). Ours will also only take with the latex teats not silicone.
Baby is breastfed 95% of the time and has bottle 1-2 times per week (might be why he prefers the latex?).

I'm swaying more towards MAM bottles I think, would be good to hear people's experience of them.

With dd I bought tommee tippee for the convenience of buying the set, she was a nightmare on them swapped to Mam and she turned to dream!

Mam deffo have that benefit of sterilising in the microwave.

Mam bottles are amazing and so simple to steralise. We've used them for our ff 7 month old since birth. They do a starter pack which was very handy and i loved that you could simply swap out the mid section for a larger one as they grow and take larger feeds.

The microwave sterlaising is fantastic, especially if going to someone elses house and you get caught short needing another bottle making up as most people have a microwave As a side note their dummies can also be steralised in the boxes they come in, in the microwave which is also mega helpful when your small child launches it across the floor and it lands in the cat food bowl...

Mam all day every day they are great.

We use MAM. They were originally bought with a plan to use in combination with breastfeeding. We ended up exclusively ff. They're great. DS is 7 months and we've never had any bother with colic, he did have reflux but that wasn't the bottles fault. They come apart easily for cleaning. We never put them in the microwave though but it's handy to know you can if you're out visiting people or something.

MAM 💯 self sterilising, most like boob, easy clean

Another vote for MAM here. I bought a tommee tippee starter set and DS refuses them. We got a MAM one free and tried it with no problems. DS is bf but we give him a bottle before bed as my milk is quite low then.

Another vote for MAM. We bought a big set of tomee tipped and baby would not entertain them. Have used MAM for 7 months. Microwave is useful but I prefer cold water steriliser because microwave can discolour the tests. Dummies are good too. We are now try ing the MAM sippy cups. They do a glass bottle but that does not have the anti colic valve.
