Mucus plug question - please help

How much mucus plug is normal? How big is everyone’s?!?

I had a sweep Sunday and I am honestly gobsmacked at the amount coming out. It’s been 48 hours of relentless, huge mucus blobs every time I wee etc. Had a shower today and clumps of it were just falling out. It’s like a horror film - the colour is all fine/no smell etc but it’s just so fucking disgusting and I don’t know how this amount can be normal?! Google saying “the size of a quarter” - it’s just not!

Would really like some info from anyone else who has lost mucus plug please

I had sweeps with both mine. I went into labour less than 24hrs after the first. With my second, I went into labour two days after. I was induced but my labour was only 67mins so it worked well. I was already having contractions before the gel was inserted. I'm now pregnant with my third and will have a sweep during 39 weeks. Consultant said that my cervix and body must be ready around 39 weeks as they all work so well. But I had a lot of plug with both of them.

Ah I’m very jealous of your body’s response to sweeps! 40+6 and struggling 😭

God mine seemed massive. About the length and width of my forearm (I'm sure it wasn't). I lost mine as I was going into active labour and it seemed like I was pulling Rapunzel's ponytail out of me...the thing just kept coming and coming.

Imagine! I didn’t see it for Ds1 as it came out with the waters. DH mentioned how disgusting it was though! Relate so heavily as having a shower today it just kept coming and coming. Length of a forearm sounds about right 😂

My first one came out intact in one big funnel shaped piece and it didn't seem that big. The second came out in bits over three days and it was never ending. Huge globs of it every time I went to the loo. It carried on coming when I was in labour and baby had a good amount of it in his nose and mouth when he was born. Lovely!

Both times I went into labour soon after.
