Positive pregnancy test but very Faint Possible ectopic ?

I am 8 days late for my period I’ve taken a pregnancy test and it’s so faint I have two older children and with these pregnancies there was a very clear line of both occasions. I took a test thinking there was no way it would be positive i previously had cyst removal after birth of my
Second child and really didn’t expect to see a line. I am told surgery means higher risk of ectopic - does anyone had anything similar with ectopic and faint lines this is very new to me

I had an ectopic about 10 years ago and the pregnancy test was a normal positive. I would take another test tomorrow and if you are worried call your GP and ask to be referred to the EPU, they will be able to help you and scan you to check where the pregnancy is although you might have to wait a week or two for anything to be visible on a scan.

If you get any pain/shoulder tip pain, go straight to A&E. Ectopic pregnancies are really dangerous.

This sounds stressful OP, I sympathise. I had an ectopic scare last year, which turned out to be a 'regular' mc. I had a faint line too, which wasn't turning darker. Is there a reason they are mentioning ectopic? It could be that but still a mc is way, way more common, while ectopic is actually quite rare. Try not to worry and keep track of any pains and other symptoms. As PP said, if there's pain or bleeding check in with 111 at least, and with shoulder pain go to A&E. I had an ectopic last year and the pregnancy test had a normal line. EPU May be able to help? Sorry you're going through this, I know it's an anxious time x

Both my ectopics also started out with good strong lines so low hcg doesn't always mean ectopic x
