Movements with second? Am I being overly anxious?

Did everyone feel their second baby move earlier than their first, or is it not always the case?.

The reason I ask is, that with my first I didn’t feel her move until the 24/25 week mark but I think that was mainly down to having an Anterior placenta.

This time around I could swear I felt flutters everyday from 14/15 weeks, I’m now 17+1 and I haven’t felt any flutters for over a week, would any of you ladies be worried . I appreciate it’s super early and that’s why I I haven’t tried to contact midwife or try and arrange private scan yet etc.

Just looking for your experiences/opinions really.

Hi,

Same situation here! Anterior placenta with first and didn’t feel anything until 23ish weeks. Definitely felt movement around 16 weeks this time round but I’m 20 weeks now and it’s so inconsistent. Some days constant, other days nothing at all. Everything I’ve read though says its really normal at this stage. The baby is so small they could easily be tucked away or kicking inwards (if that makes sense.) I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about. I have my scan on Thursday so hopefully that will reassure us both!

I'm the same, didnt feel number 1 until 20 weeks, felt number 2 about 17 weeks. I think I've been feeling this one since about 12 weeks, I'm now 14+5 and some days I feel it loads while sat down, other days nothing. I think its completely normal this early but still worrying even though we know we shouldnt be worrying!

@Foreverbaffled thank you that makes me feel a lot better . What worries me is that the movements have stopped now for over a week I literally don’t feel pregnant at all! I had a MMC before having my daughter so I think this is making me more anxious. Good luck with your scan Thursday lovely, I have everything crossed we’re both just being stress heads . I have a private scan booked for tomorrow as I have just been worrying to much. Please let me know how you get on.

@Sanch1 thanks for your reply, you are probably right! I think if it was just a day or 2 I wouldn’t be so worked up as it’s over a week now I am seriously starting to her worried. I have a private scan booked for tomorrow as I can’t bare waiting another 3 weeks to find out if everything is ok.

@Rainbowm how did your scan go lovely? I really hope everything went well and you’re feeling reassured :)

My scan was lovely and baby very happy in there phew! Posterior placenta this time but still very little in the way of movement (despite baby kicking and rolling around loads in there!)

Ah so glad yours went well, have you found out what your having?

I’m glad to say mine went brilliant too and I also have a Posterior placenta this time, the baby was going mad on the screen but I couldn’t feel a thing.

Just so glad we’ve both got positive outcomes xx
