Can they really tell the gender at 14 weeks?

Hello,

A girl I know on Facebook had a private gender scan at 14 weeks and I'm considering booking in but will they be able to tell or is it too soon?

Yes, and I'll keep bringing it up until people, the government, the NHS and every other organisation gets it right.

A lot of private places won’t do such scans before 16 weeks, as it hard to be accurate before that point. If you do go at 14 weeks, just keep in mind that it’s possible you’ll be told something different at your 20 week scan.

We found out we were having boys at our 12 week scans.
Both times the sonographers were very certain and they were right.

The OP clearly isn't interested in people talking about sex Vs gender so I'm not sure why people are being snide.

It's not being snide, it's being scientifically accurate. Gender is not a scientific concept that can be tested for. Sex is.
