Sickness

I have had really bad sickness (constant nausea and throwing up 2/3 times every day) the past 6 weeks. I am 12 weeks today and feeling worse than ever. In my head I was expecting to wake up in some kind of miracle 2nd trimester glow today and that clearly hasn't happened. Feel so down. I know no one can tell me when I feel better as it is different for everyone. I just wanted to let off steam and to say hats off to everyone that has gone through this before 😭

Bless you. Hang in there, hopefully you will be out of that phase soon!

My transition into 2nd trimester wasn’t smooth sailing. For me weeks 12-14 were the worst as my main trigger for sickness was being tired, and from 12 weeks I started getting pregnancy insomnia and I was still suffering the 1st trimester sickness, it was horrible. I was exhausted all the time in 1st trimester but at least I could sleep easily! Week 15 was my turning point and the sickness faded away. After that the comments about my pregnancy glow started to come in!

I use sicknesses (travel) armbands. My midwife haa recommended it. Also, yiu could contact your doctor if your sickness symptoms are that bad.

I wish I spent less of my 2nd trimester waiting for the glow/miserable that I was still tired and struggling.

Every pregnancy is different, I'm actually finding my third trimester the easiest of the three and managed a 3 mile walk the other day at 34 weeks something I couldn't have managed at 14 or 24 weeks!

Take things easy and stay away from anything/anyone that gushes about the 2nd trimester. There will be a point when things are less awful. I would focus on that too.... I still feel pretty rotten in my 3rd trimester its less bad. I certainly am not glowing! I can just function slightly better.

@redo18 aw bless you. My heart breaks for you, I've been there and can totally empathise. For me my hyperemesis was still bad at 12 weeks but eased off by the time I was 16 weeks. It may take a while for you to feel better but I think the second trimester will bring you first kicks/flutters and movements. You start to get distracted from the sickness... well I did anyway. Some people are so ill up to the baby's born. Stick in there, you're doing well. X

Oh bless you. I had this with my first. I stopped vomiting at 16 weeks but remained nauseous.

Go to the doctors for anti sickness medicine - you don't have to suffer! I ended up with Hyperemesis and it lasted until 25ish weeks and even though I was still sick the medicine did help the nausea

Absolutely second the advice about anti sickness meds you sound like you need some help and that this is more than morning sickness, unfortunately
I was ill through whole pregnancy with my eldest and my second felt horrendous but manged to avoid hospital with the righ meds x
