Sling recommendation from plus size ladies

Expecting baby no.2 in September and haven't used a sling before but really interested in one this time round have read recommendations on here.

I'm a size 18-20 with large norks and the pics I've looked at of slings are all very slim women wearing them so I'm not sure how comfortable they would be for someone my size. This is the wrap around options I'm looking at, I'm not sure if there is a different kind of sling?

Any recommendations?

I'm exactly the same and used the baby Bjorn perfectly comfortably and DS2 loved it. We have an ergo baby now that he's a little bigger (and heavier) and he doesn't enjoy it at all, partly I think because he has to spread his legs so wide around me to be comfortable.

I'm about your size OP, baby isn't here yet but I've got a moby fabric sling which I've tested out with a big teddy bear Grin it's got absolutely tons of fabric on it so whilst it might not look quite the same as the slim lady on the box there is more than enough to wrap around me.

Size 18 here, we used a beco Gemini and it was amazing. The baby bjorn (old style) crippled me within 3 weeks but I could carry her in the Gemini til nearly two.

Are you looking at stretchy wraps or woven?

Pretty much any stretchy wrap or buckle carrier will be absolutely fine for you. Fitting tends to be more of a problem for very petite women with narrow shoulders.

If wovens, try with a base size 7 to start.

Yes it was the stretchy type I was interested in as look more 'comfy' - thank you for your recommendations I'm off to do some online shopping Smile
