BabyJogger City Mini from birth

I have a babyjogger city mini that I used for my 1st baby but only had it from 6months or so. I had a silver cross travel system/carrycot from birth which I no longer have.

Should I look at getting the babyjogger carrycot or have you found it is ok without?

It depends when the baby is a newborn I think. For a late spring / summer baby, it would be ok but tiny babies in autumn / winter I think would need more protection against the cold / wind as they're a bit exposed in the big seats.

It'll be a January baby so may be cosier with the carrycot

We used a carry cot for a bit bit baby outgrew it quite quickly but was nice and cosy.

We used it from birth without a carrycot. Wouldn’t have been able to fit pushchair and carrycot and 4 DC in the car. Loved that pushchair so much! I found it snuggly enough with the cosy toes and a sheepskin insert.

I had it with the carry cot and really liked it. For the age difference I had (15 months) it was absolutely perfect and I loved it more that is normal for a pushchair Grin

I used ours without a carrycot from birth with a winter baby I had a cozy footmuff type thing that went in it so baby was pretty snug.

My personal preference is to have a newborn higher up and therefore closer to me (I’m very tall and a newborn in a BJCM would feel miles away) as well as parent-facing, so I would use a carrycot. They come up pretty frequently in the baby jogger Facebook groups.

Not had the baby yet, but we bought a 2nd bj city mini gt and a new carry cot to go with it so 🤞it works out.

I think the carry cot might have changed slightly with the newer design so do check that the one you buy fits the pram you already have.
