If your counting in weeks Dawn effectivley your 10mths pregnant.

so at 36 weeks your 9 months
at 40 weeks your 10mths

Yep 8 Month. Not every month has 4 weeks so 36 weeks isn't 9 months. Otherwise a year would only be 48 weeks.

There was a thread about this a while ago and someone posted a formula for working out how many months as opposed to weeks pg you are. I wrote it down but I cant find it, I'll have a look and get back to you.

MyNameis - thats the way i was told by my MW when i was pg.

Would like to see the formula

NoCuddles · 28/09/2007 13:06

I FOUND IT (I'm at work and leaving in a week so I've started to clear out my desk and must have thrown it away!!)

Multiply the number of weeks you are by 7.

Add the extra day's (If any).

Divide it by 30.4

Interestingly, If you ask a Japanese person how long a pregnancy lasts, they'll tell you 10 months. Can't remember why, but I think it's got something to do with the lunar calendar (ie 10x4weeks), and the fact that they (as we do) count from date of last period rather than date of conception.

I think I read something somewhere (Hmmm specific) that Japanese pregnancies aren't ever induced, but can be allowed to go up to 44 weeks!!

Don't think any of them ever actually get that far though.
