Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

Hi @Mococo1 😁

KB13 · 23/07/2020 07:31

@zippityzip we are all hoping for a boy as like you this will be our last but would be over the moon with a girl as well. God I would love a drama free pregnancy and I have my fingers crossed that I might be 3rd time lucky on the water birth. I was induced at 37.5 weeks with my first because my hind waters went, had to be monitored throughout my Labour with my 2nd because of reduced movements. I’d love for this one to be plain sailing 😂

Fingers crossed everything is ok. I have some day’s where I don’t feel instantly sick or not sick at all and then I have some where I barely make it to the bathroom. I did read that it can come and go.
Other than horrendous morning sickness I’m not too bad. We have a scan booked for next Wednesday. How many weeks are you?

zippityzip · 23/07/2020 07:55

@KB13 I'm only 5 weeks but my boobs are like bricks and the bloat is real. Is this because it's my third? I genuinely don't see a way to cover it up 😭 I've got two family events this weekend which I'll be sober for as well so that will raise some questions. I do like my wine 😂

Fingers crossed it's plain sailing for both of us this time! I just want a scan so I know that everything is ok but there's no point doing it before 7 weeks is there?

Cocoblue22 · 23/07/2020 08:00

@Mococo1 glad to see you've taken the plunge and joined us over here 👍🏻 x

@KB13 that sickness sounds awful and Deffo sounds like could be twins 🤣 although my friend had twins and had no idea she had no pregnancy symptoms at all and only found out when she went for a reassurance scan so it's not always the case! X

@zippityzip don't worry the sickness can come and go it doesn't mean anything. It's my second pregnancy and I'm 6+2 and so bloated I already look really pregnant and my boobs are like bricks too and really sore especially in the evenings! X

Hope everyone is having a good morning x

Noble89 · 23/07/2020 08:26

Morning ladies!

How are we all feeling today?

@SmileyT the main thing they'll check for is that the growth is on track. I had an early scan at 8 weeks last time and the baby had a heartbeat but only measured 6 weeks. They insisted I just had my dates wrong but obviously I knew that wasn't the case. Apparently that's the first sign with a partial molar pregnancy which is what I had. A complete molar pregnancy doesn't ever appear like a normal pregnancy and you'll never see a heartbeat so that can definitely be ruled out early on. Some people have partial molar pregnancies that appear normal until much later but I think because my last one followed the normal trend of developing slowly it'll out my mind at rest if I measure ok this time. Not 100% but it'll definitely feel like there's less chance of there being a problem.

Nausea is persisting. I've only actually been sick a could of times but I feel nauseous pretty much 24/7. Sometimes it's worse than others and I really have to concentrate on breathing to not be sick and sometimes it's milder and I can distract myself.

Does anyone have a guess as to what they're having and why? I'm guessing boy as I found out so early (got my BFP @ 8DPO) I read somewhere boys tend to implant faster. I mean I know it's all just guess work but that's my prediction!

zippityzip · 23/07/2020 09:10

@Noble89 According to the Chinese calendar mine is another girl! Although I know that is entirely an old wives tale!

SmileyT · 23/07/2020 09:37

@Noble89 ahh that makes complete sense, sorry hope you don't mind me asking about it, I've just never heard too much about it and was curious 🙈 ahh glad you're not actually being sick loads, I know nausea is exhausting but physically being sick is just the worst. I generally just feel hungover all the time 😂

I keep telling myself I'm having a girl so that I'm mentally prepared if it is a girl, but I'm just so desperate for it to be a boy... I have to caveat I'm happy with any healthy happy baby, but everytime I think about the future it's a little boy, 10weeks to wait 😬❤️

@zippityzip you can have scans from 6weeks as you can see HB from about 5w4 I think but more chance you won't see anything and then have to be rescanned, think most people go between 7 and 9 from what I've seen when risks are slightly reduced. Can't wait for mine now 🤞Also just checked on Chinese calendar and it's saying a girl 😬

@zippityzip I’ve got mine booked for 8 weeks so that it gives room for me to be moved back and I should still be able to see everything is ok.

Yes my bloat is awful as well. I swear I peed on a stick and my body went ahh ok we are doing this again and boom I look 6 months pregnant 🙈 it’s so difficult to hide at work as my uniform is tight now.

@Cocoblue22 I had bad morning sickness with my 1st as well and there was only 1. So I’m hoping that’s the case this time 😂 Should find out on Wednesday 🤞🏻 God my boobs are so sore as well, my cat jumped on me in the night and his paw landed smack down on top of my nipple it bloody hurt! I don’t remember any of this was my first 2 but then they are 8 and 6 so it was awhile ago

Cocoblue22 · 23/07/2020 09:49

I'm re watching one born every minute from season one back in 2010 in preparation 🤣

Any other good birth/baby programmes I should be watching? X

Noble89 · 23/07/2020 10:26

@SmileyT not at all. If anything I think it made me realise I should have trusted my instincts and advocated for myself more rather than letting them tell me everything was fine when I knew it wasn't. It's actually the best advice I could give anyone, trust your gut. If you have reason to think there's something wrong push hard to have it checked properly as I had to wait another month to find out the inevitable and it put my life at risk!

Hungover all the time is definitely the way to describe it. Sickly, lethargic and just generally yucky feeling.

I totally go back and forth about what I want. My ideal picture is a boy then a girl but if I was only going to have one flavour I'd want girls as my Mum and I have such a good relationship and I'll need someone to look after me in my old age 😂. Personally I think I'd prefer a boy right now, but there are tonnes of boy grandchildren in my family (11 boys Vs 3 girls). There have been no girls on my dad's side for 18 years and my MIL had 2 sons and was desperate for a daughter but never got one. My dad and MIL would be over the moon with a girl so part of me wants to give them a girl even though I'd like a boy for me!

KB13 · 23/07/2020 11:55

Mine says I’m having a boy but I just have a feeling it will be another girl or 2 knowing my luck 😂 I do love having girls but god they are hard work

Dipsy77 · 23/07/2020 13:22

@Cocoblue22 Emma Willis delivering babies is good there's 2 series, then there's life and birth I haven't watch that yet, there was also that one on the bbc where they filmed the birth and then the first 6 weeks but I can't remember what it's called xx

Dipsy77 · 23/07/2020 13:27

@Cocoblue22 I remember it it's the baby has landed that's good too xx

Mococo1 · 23/07/2020 13:34

Hello ladies

More baby programmes for you (said while I sit at the front of the bus all shy until I feel cool enough to join all you confident kids at the back)

  • baby hospital 24/7
  • big birthers
Cocoblue22 · 23/07/2020 13:37

Thanks for the recommendations ladies! Feeling under the weather today so I'm literally binge watching ObEm! Really should get up and do something 🤣 x

Noble89 · 23/07/2020 14:22

If any of you like podcasts Clemmie hooper's birth stories is very good!

I also bloody love the Highland midwives TV show 😂

SmileyT · 23/07/2020 16:13

@Cocoblue22 How are you feeling now?

Okay another FTM probably stupid question but do you have to watch birthing shows to get tips? I can't imagine ever watching one without a very good reason 🙈

@Noble89 my parents have 3 grandsons so would love a girl, my mum would be delighted, but I definitely have boy then girl in my head like you 🤣

Hi ladies, hope you’re all doing well! Haven’t posted in a few days, I’m still here following along, just chilling as I’m a teacher and I’m on summer holidays now finally! I’m going to to my clear blue digital weeks tomorrow morning as that will be exactly 2 weeks since I got my BFP and I think I roll over to 6 weeks so fingers crossed for a 3+ weeks. My 6yo DD is at her Dad’s tonight so DP and I are off out for a date night at our favourite restaurant, first time we’ve eaten out since lockdown and what I can’t have in cocktails and wine I’m planning to make up in food!

Cocoblue22 · 23/07/2020 18:55

@SmileyT haha no you don't need to watch them I just found it helped to mentally prepare me last time and I quite enjoyed watching it tbf! I'm keen to know the ins and outs of a c section as I haven't experienced it! I feel alright just felt a bit off today had upset tummy think we have had a bit of a bug x

@LittleRa that sounds a lovely evening make sure you have desert since you can't have wine! Enjoy your evening together x

mrsmummy1111 · 23/07/2020 19:16

Hi ladies!
Sorry I haven't been back much, we are actually abroad at the moment (DH had a sudden quiet spell at work so said let's get out of here ASAP while we have the chance!) so we are in Greece for a couple of weeks. Not to make you all jealous or anything but I am here in the background being that annoying person that reads and never replies!

@SmileyT I never watched any birthing shows or anything as I thought it would freak me out!! But I've got friends who absolutely love them. Although I'm a bit less of a wuss now I've actually done it to be fair.

How's everyone feeling? I got my ovulation day slightly wrong so I was actually only DPO when I got my BFP, then I did a clear blue digital the next day and got a pregnant on it. That seems pretty early to get a positive on a digital doesn't it?

Anyway I hope you're all ok and keeping well. No real symptoms here, just sleepy but what's new!

Noble89 · 23/07/2020 20:15

@Cocoblue22 I love OBEM. I watch so many shows about birth and babies I'm obsessed 😂.

@SmileyT do you have siblings? I think I like the boy then girl idea as I have older brothers and we have a fab relationship. I'd love my kids to have what we have.

Hi @mrsmummy1111. How have you been feeling? I've had fairly constant nausea and have been sick a few times but other than that I'm fine! You didn't mention how many DPO above BTW 😊

mrsmummy1111 · 23/07/2020 20:24

Hahaha thanks @Noble89 doh! I was 9DPO with the FRER and 10DPO with digital.

Can I just say I also have an older brother and 3 sisters (I'm a middle child) and we all have a fab relationship. We are v.close to my brother but my sisters are my best best friends. We had a DS first and I feel like whatever we have next will have so many positives. If it's a boy then how amazing to give him a brother. But if we have a girl then how lucky are we. We'd love to have 4 eventually as DH & I both have big families (we are both 1 of 5) and had such fun growing up - albeit STARKLY different upbringings, but the one thing we both remember is having lots of people around and I'd love that for my kids too. Anyway I digress, I've been feeling tip top but then again I only found out a few days ago so there's plenty of time for it to all go Pete tong. Ask me again in a few weeks when I've got my head down the loo 🤣

SmileyT · 23/07/2020 21:31

@LittleRa we are still yet to go out for a meal hope you have a fab night 🥰

@Cocoblue22 oh okay this makes sense, I feel like I really had cracked ttc but never thought too much about what happens next, so I definitely want to delve into some research, might start with reading before the visuals though 😂 glad you are feeling a bit better x

@mrsmummy1111 @Noble89 yeah I have an older brother and little sister and strangely in my group of school friends we are all middle girls apart from one is an only child (and she is a bit of a tw&t) and two of my closest friends have little boys under 2 now but she would be the most spoilt girl with my OH he is such a soft touch with me, god knows what he'd be like with his daughter 😂

@mrsmummy1111 enjoy the holiday, rest up and I hope the symptoms stay away while your away at least 😎 xx

Morning, I know it’s early but I just woke up for a wee and so I did my digital weeks and got my 3+ Grin Now back to bed until DD returns from her Dad’s at 8am!
Oh and on the sex front that I was asking about- we’ve done it 3 times since BFP so 3 times in 2 weeks, that’s down for us as we’re usually every other day ish but that’s what I’ve fancied and DP has been happy Smile
Happy Friday everyone!

Oh god I love OBEM - I was binge watching it whilst we were TTC. I don't actually want to consider the fact I'm going to have to give birth again 😂 it's terrifying.

We went out for dinner last night! My god it was so nice to get out and not cook. I did strop though because the man at the next table had mussels and red wine and both of those are my favourite things and I could SMELL them but I wasn't allowed them!
