Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

@Noble89 as far as I'm aware they are able to spot signs of anything just the same and do measurements etc and heart rate and if there's any issues they report back to your gp they ask for all that info when you go so they can write a report if they need to I think if everything is fine they don't though only if they see something they are concerned about. I'm sure all will be fine but it will hopefully give you some reassurance if your dates are around where you think. Don't be alarmed if they are a few days out though because I recently learnt that embryos divide at different rates so not always exactly the size you would expect. Keep us updated on how you get on x

LittleRa · 24/07/2020 21:25

Welcome newcomers and congratulations!
I had such a good birth with my DD (now 6yo). Obviously I thought it was horrendous at the time but with hindsight and hearing others’ stories I realise how good it was. I had a long slow build up at home with tens machine and long baths but once I was admitted at around 6am she was born at 11.15am, in the birth pool and I had only gas and air and I had no tears and needed no stitches. Mind you, she was only 5lb 7oz! I don’t know whether this means I’ll have similar this time or a horrendous experience 😫 DD is with my ex who is around 5ft 10 (so on the smallish side) whereas my now DP and Dad to this baby is 6ft 2 so I’ll probably get a massive one 🙈 I’d love to have a water birth again though. I felt like floating around in the water was so soothing and made me feel so light at a time when you feel heavy all the time waddling around plus I think the water helps with no tearing (obv her small size helped too) and it also helped me stick to just gas and air because if I said I can’t cope with the pain anymore I need something stronger, the midwife said yes that’s fine but if you want something stronger you’ll need to get out of the water. So I’d be like ok ok I’ll try a bit longer! As I didn’t want to get out.

Cocoblue22 · 24/07/2020 21:32

@LittleRa a water birth sounds delightful (as far as births go) that's what I wanted but sadly never got to experience it and never will but it's not the end of the world x

LittleRa · 24/07/2020 21:34

@Cocoblue22 I’m not sure whether I’m over romanticising it in my head but it did all go well, however, holding your baby at the end of it all is the absolute everything, so how you get there is by the by. A downside of the water birth is that I’m naked in all my first photo holding DD in the pool so can’t show anyone 😂

Noble89 · 25/07/2020 09:15

Morning ladies,

Well I just took my last pregnancy test of this pregnancy as I got my 3+ digital 😊.

How are we all feeling this morning?

Smp321 · 25/07/2020 09:59

@LittleRa you have just made water birth sound amazing! As this is my first I feel like for some reason there is no point even mentioning water birth as I don’t know how it will pan out? I feel like it’s highly unlikely I’d actually be able to have one even though there’s nothing to suggest otherwise. You may have just changed my mind. Although there is still plenty of time to decide haha!

Good morning @Noble89 that’s so good to hear! I can’t quite work out whether I’m having bouts of sickness or hunger? This is all brand new to me so just plodding along. How are you?

Cocoblue22 · 25/07/2020 10:05

@Noble89 yay that's great for 3+ 🎉 I have one more left and I'm still tempted to use it on Monday though I'm not sure why!! I feel the same sore boobs etc I'm finding it hard to sleep I get to sleep but keep waking in the night and then I'm tossing and turning for ages and can't get comfy! X

@Smp321 there's no harm in telling them you would like one if possible most hospitals only have a few water birth rooms my hospital only has one so if someone else is already in it you can't have it unfortunately so it's a bit the luck of the draw! It does sound lovely though that's what I'd have if I was allowed! and yeah sometimes you think the nausea is hunger because you eat and it goes but comes back after a while I always feel better after stuffing my face haha x

SmileyT · 25/07/2020 10:46

@Smp321 yeah my first too, so just feeling it all out as we go 🙌🏾 with my MC I rang my GP but they had a 3week wait for an appt (pre-COVID) and receptionist just said google the hospitals, pick one and refer yourself, so just jumped straight to that this time. So many mixed reviews on hospitals though 🤯 and actually ended up picking one that has birthing pools in every room so maybe I'll have a magical birth like @LittleRa ❤️ my Nan was a midwife makes me wish she was still around she basically delivered me, my siblings and all my cousins and feel like it would be great having someone around that knows what they are doing and can truly advocate for what's best x

@Noble89 will definitely come and join when I get a scan and confirm there is actually a baby in there 🙈 and yay to 3+ 🥳 how is the nausea now? Xx

@Cocoblue22 I'm the same as you falling asleep but I'm up 3 or 4 times in the night and just can't get comfortable. I'd say if you have your scan on Tuesday maybe just save the last test for finding out about DC3 x

Cocoblue22 · 25/07/2020 11:03

@SmileyT aww your nan sounds like a legend how lovely that she delivered you all! Oh that's good about the hospital you've chosen I hope you get a lovely water birth like @LittleRa 🤞🏻 yeah my scan is weds so I should probably just wait for that I'm just a POAS addict! I can't wait for Wednesday now it's seemed to take forever to come around! X

Mococo1 · 25/07/2020 14:53

Afternoon ladies

Got a dreaded feeling last night (same as 2 peg mc) and my My IC this morning was a lot lighter than ydays with FMU. Any symptoms I have had seem to have disappeared today so I'm pretty sure it may be a CP 😭 can't believe this is happening to me again so if I disappear from the group you know why x

LittleRa · 25/07/2020 18:09

Hope you’re ok @Mococo1 💕

garagesale · 25/07/2020 18:13

I'm at it again - testing. Got my BFP yesterday and this is today's test.

Due AF on Monday so I'm trying to not worry about it being faint!

SmileyT · 25/07/2020 18:48

@Cocoblue22 oh Wednesday... not long to wait, but completely understand the POAS addiction so if you do want to do it, no judgement here 😂 and yeah my Nan was a proper no nonsense Caribbean midwife I miss her x

@Mococo1 I'm so sorry to hear this, please be kind to yourself ❤️❤️❤️

@garagesale congrats again x

Kristy17 · 25/07/2020 19:14

Hello, I’m moving over from the July bus, I think a lot had moved over already as I’d only just joined Mumsnet. I got my BFP on Tuesday so nervously excited. This will be my second, we have a 20 month old daughter already. Congratulations to all 😊

July Bus Graduates ❤️
Cocoblue22 · 25/07/2020 19:19

@Mococo1 I hope that's not the case for you. Remember they can sometimes look fainter if your wee isn't as concentrated or it could of been that particular test I've had some where the dye isn't as dark. Try not to worry (easier said than done) if you've had no bleeding etc then it could all be fine. How far along are you? X

@garagesale it's still a BFP even if it is faint. Try and wait a few days plus those CB are not as sensitive as other brands my CB monitor didn't even pick mine up until a good 5 days after my FR and the CB weeks one picked it up before my monitor did. Don't test for a few days and you should see progression! X

@SmileyT she sounds amazing I bet I would have liked her sounds like she was great at her job too I bet she was honoured to deliver all the babies in your family I'm sure she will be with you in spirit when it's your turn to deliver she will be watching over you and making sure you are okay x

Cocoblue22 · 25/07/2020 19:20

@Kristy17 congratulation on BFP 🎉 x

Cocoblue22 · 25/07/2020 22:15

Does anyone know is it safe to dye your hair in the first 12 weeks? I think I did with DS but I can't remember x

Mococo1 · 25/07/2020 23:40

@Cocoblue22 I'm 4w5d but could be less/more due to getting preg straight after another early mc

I'm more worried about the no symptoms in combination with the fainter line (felt like I just started to get some with sore boobs now that's vanished and no little nausea today either) and it's the exact same experiences to my other miscarriages.. as same thing happened then bled afterwards

I also feel like I've jinxed it by being active on the graduates group 😭

I wish all of you nothing but success and healthy happy beans ♥️♥️

FairyLights2 · 26/07/2020 04:46

Hi ladies,

I hope it's not too late to join? I just got a BFP. I can't believe it! This is my first pregnancy, so I'm feeling pretty nervous to be honest. But It's so lovely to see others who are on a similar journey and I've already learned so much just from reading your posts :) Thank you for starting this thread.

SmileyT · 26/07/2020 05:33

Welcome @Kristy17 and @FairyLights2 and congratulations on your BFPs, it's so nice to see new names from different July threads joining us over here ☺️ how are you both feeling? Have you worked out your estimated due date? x

@Cocoblue22 NHS website says that it's safe to colour hair as the doses of chemicals are so low but many women chose to wait until after 12weeks 🤔

OP posts:
Smp321 · 26/07/2020 07:21

@Cocoblue22 I suppose there’d be no harm in mentioning water birth then. And oh no, this is going to be a confusing 8 months if that’s the case!

@SmileyT how do you self refer then? I might jump straight to that also. And a birthing pool in every room??? Wow that’s amazing! Fingers crossed for you! And your nan sounds like a superwoman! I’m sure you’ll have her spirit 😊

Welcome newcomers and congratulations!

Cocoblue22 · 26/07/2020 07:34

@Mococo1 I'm so sorry you feel this way. It is still early to be having symptoms though and they can come and go so it could be that. I can understand why you would fear the worst after everything you've been through but I really hope it isn't 😢 you haven't jinxed yourself if it is happening again there's nothing you could of done and it's nothing you have done wrong. I hope you're okay x

@FairyLights2 congratulations on BFP 🎉 and welcome 👋🏻 x

@SmileyT yeah I might wait until after 12weeks just to be safe even though my hair looks terrible! X

SmileyT · 26/07/2020 07:41

@Smp321 I did some research on local hospitals, picked the one I wanted to go to and then put 'hospital name maternity self-referral' into google and the page came up 👌🏾 and I've just realised that it was another hospital I looked at that have pools in every room, maybe no water birth for me 🙈

@Cocoblue22 yeah I guess there is no point taking any risks, how are you feeling this morning? x

OP posts:
Bl0ndi3 · 26/07/2020 07:48

@Cocoblue22 I have googled the same question as I have a hair appointment on 30th July. I've researched it and I think it's like has already been said it's fine but some people Prefer to wait.

I only ever have highlights done which I think is even better/less risk as the dye doesn't touch your scalp so I am going ahead with my appointment I think. I'm undecided tho as I can't be arsed sitting for 3 hours making small talk and what if I get nausea or something haha.

Cocoblue22 · 26/07/2020 07:56

@SmileyT does the hospital you've picked have any water birth rooms? Our hospital only has one. Three of my mummy friends all gave birth in that room over the course of a few weeks which they find really amusing! I feel okay quite tired still and sore boobs but more so in the evening when I feel like my nipples are on fire! I also get more and more bloated throughout the day and look more and more PG. told one of my best friends on Friday but she said she already knew she could tell by my behaviour and she said I already look PG despite my best efforts to hide it. Makes me wonder if my mum and DHs mum are suspecting it too but don't want to ask in case I'm just fat! How are you feeling? I'm also starving all the time X

@Bl0ndi3 yeah I have a full head dye well usually the roots not the whole hair as my hair is long I've had same colour for years so I think that helps I deffo dyed my hair when preg with ds but I can't remember if I waited until after 12 weeks or not. I've really struggled to get hold of the dye I use also so I could use that as an excuse that my colour is out of stock if anyone asks that I don't want to know! X

How far along is everyone now? I'm 6+5 x
