Silver cross or oyster 3

My parents have kindly said that they wanted to buy our Pram. We went shopping today with my mum and were are all torn between the oyster 3 and silver cross Pacific rock. Does anyone have any views on either of these?

Does the rock have a full sized pram top? If not go for the oyster.

I fell in love with my silver Cross when pregnant with dd but it had a smaller pram top so she outgrew it in about 6 weeks which rendered it useless as the pushchair but didn't lay flat.

My sister has a silver cross and I think it’s lovely but she thinks it’s overrated not sure why, I don’t know much about the oyster 3 but I just purchased the ocarro from mamas and papas and I love it, I found that looking at review videos online and obviously test driving the prams helped me x

@Tinyhumansurvivalist, @Chl00, thank you, I’ve been to test drive them today and it’s just left me more confused.

We’re just about to order the Silver Cross Pacific in Ink 😊 have been to “test drive” a few times and have heard lots of good reviews. I like that it looks quite chunky and substantial but was actually a bit lighter than some others that we looked at! And seems to be pretty easy to take apart and fold etc!

I had a silver cross surf with my dd a few years ago and i loved it was so sad when I sold it on! This time I've gone for the silver cross wave as it's a bit bigger!

I have also read really good reviews on the oyster but for me it's a silver cross

I've been to see a whole range and I'm a massive fan of the Oyster 3 which surprised me as before test driving them it was t really on my radar. It handles brilliantly, is lightweight yet well made and looks lovely too. I was shocked it was actually the cheapest out of the ones we looked at. Amazing!

Ditto re the oyster 3. Baby not born yet but we were pretty set on the Egg until we saw this and it is far more practical and a lot cheaper. We have bought a Cybex Cloud Z car seat to go with it

I've just got an oyster 3 and yet to have a baby in it but love it. It's so easy to move and nice and compact when put down.
I can't comment on the silver cross but I went for oyster 3 off recommendations from friends

Shopping basket on silver cross is bigger.

They are very similar in terms of usability and style though. Silver cross carry cot lasted us til 6 months.

clemmie83 · 12/07/2020 08:44

@Anaesthetist83 Can I ask what made you go for that car seat? We're pretty set on the Oyster 3, just investigating which car seat to go for now...

Anaesthetist83 · 12/07/2020 08:47

It is amongst the highest rating in terms of safety. We also liked the fact that it has a lie flat feature so whilst baby is small, could theoretically take out in the car and then walk around with them in the seat attached to the pram without having to worry about the timing. Note - the lie flat feature can’t be used in the car so this is no different to others. We also liked the swivel feature.

@Anaesthetist83 Sounds good, I'll have to take a look!

I also recommend the Oyster 3 pram and Cybex Cloud z! We did a lot of research and are very happy all round.
