Hi ladies!

Would anyone happen to know if you can take calcium supplements? I'm 21+5 and my nails are so weak they bend and my teeth and gums are just beyond a joke now.

It's just boots own brand of calcium 800mg per tablet?

Many ThanksSmile

Interesting question. I don't know but I would guess that there must be a reason that midwives don't recommend it despite dental issues affecting most women in pregnancy.

I'm also in the bleeding gums club. Dentists are never bothered in my experience though, with my last pregnancy they just said it would go back to normal after the birth.

teeth and gums are more likely due to vit d3 or iron deficiency.
if you eat green veg and/or dairy then it is unlikely you are deficient in calcium.
a good source of protein is also important.
