I'm 6+5 and my hunger is insatiable 🙈 I feel sick if I don't eat regularly and I'm hungry even after I've eaten. Anyone else the same? Any tips for not becoming the size of a house before the first trimester is even over 🙈😂

Hahah I was just like this!! I never knew it was a thing! I've heard so many people feel the same! Basically you just can't worry about it, eat what you need to eat when you need to eat it. Figure out what type of things you like and stock up- like rich tea biscuits, grapes, apples, nuts and fruit... The energy is needed by your body so that's all you can do, it'll be burned off if you are worried but basically just try not to think of it like that. Your body is telling you what it needs so just roll with it! I had snacks by my bed for when I woke up so hungry in the night, ate cereal right before sleep, had to eat before I could even get out of bed...just like constant grazing, soooo many carbs- but it helped and now I'm 16 weeks and feel much better!

P.S. I still have only gained maybe 4kg in total since before I was pregnant? I don't have scales in my house so I don't know for sure what I was before but whenever I go for a check I weigh myself to check I'm gaining weight OK and it's always fine.

I was the same Grin eat, you need it! It'll get better after 1st trimester

peonyrose87 · 10/07/2020 18:18

@Hanrora06 thank you! That makes me feel a bit better. I'll definitely stock up on snacks and try and make sure they're healthy. I've already got a stash beside my bed for the morning hunger!!

@linerforlife thank you!

Yep - I always feel like I eat my way through 1st 3 months but nibbling keeps me from feeling sick.

I find a double breakfast spaced out by an hour helps. Then lighter main meals.

Wait till you wake up starving at 2am!

Lucindaa · 10/07/2020 21:53

@peonyrose87 I'm 6+7 I wake up at 4am everyday as I'm starving! I'm not a snacker between meals but I can't even hold out anymore because my stomach is screaming out for food!

@peonyrose87 no worries :) I was so surprised that it was a thing when it happened, I expected to actually be sick but I really wasn't, just soooooo hungry!!

Also- if you find the healthier snacks are not what you want, or you just can't face them, it's ALWAYS better to eat something than nothing, even if it's just like a bag of crisps or some haribo or a McDonalds or whatever you need that day. The baby will be taking all its vitamins and nutrients from your body, which is one reason why it's so exhausting, so there's no issue there, it's not really like the baby 'eats what you eat'. You just need the energy, wherever that comes from. If you're taking pregnancy vitamins you'll have more than enough. I found Boots own made me feel less sick than the branded Pregnacare ones.
