Today is the day, I am 37+2 and due to recent reduced growth and a baby in a very unideal breech position I will be having a c section today!

Nervous is an understatement. I don't really know why I'm posting 🤷‍♀️ maybe just some moral support!!

Good luck! I had a planned c section 4 months ago and it was a very positive experience.

Girls3maybe4 · 10/07/2020 06:20

Good luck!
My planned section was an amazing experience and the recovery was so much better than my emergency!
Hope it all goes well!

sel2223 · 10/07/2020 07:22

Good luck!

Good luck! I had two c-sections, second one planned. It was fab.

strawbmilk · 10/07/2020 07:32

I'd a great planned c section 6 months ago. Hope you do too & all is well with baby!

Morgan12 · 10/07/2020 07:36

Good luck!

Try not to worry too much. I was ridiculously nervous for my c section and it was honestly a lovely calm experience.

Make sure you take your pain meds, set a timer and never miss them. If you don't have anything for trapped wind then send someone to get you something asap. I had windeze and they work a treat.

I've had two elective c-sections and they were wonderful and calm. Like pp said-keep on top of pain meds and set alarms on your phone throughout the night to remind you to take paracetamol and ibuprofen when you get home. Ask for the oramorph if you're in pain/uncomfortable in hospital and I'd recommend downing as much water as possible when you're out of recovery today and tomorrow to make sure your bladder is working etc (they're militant about making you wee, I think it's 750ml they want to see).

I didn't get the shoulder/wind pain with my first but got it bad with my second and sent my mum off to Holland and Barratts for peppermint oil to put in some hot water to drink as the hospital had run out of the peppermint oil stuff that I had with my first.

You'll have a great team in theatre and the anaesthetist will make sure you don't get the nausea before you even notice anything!

Relax as much as you can for the spinal and enjoy the whole experience and I hope it all goes well!

Not sure if they're doing it now with CV-19 but on both occasions one of the midwives took my phone from me to take 100s of photos of us and the baby.

They dropped the screen with my second and I have some beautiful photos of my daughter being born! And photos of my husband and I with both the babies for first cuddles. I hope they do it for you today because those photos are amazing!

Good luck! I had my DD by ECLS just under two years ago and whilst slightly surreal, it was a very positive experience and we were home the next day. Hope all goes well x

Good luck @boymum4! I am having an c section due to baby being breech next week and feeling very nervous like you. But hearing everyone’s positive stories is really reassuring. Enjoy the experience x
