Does anyone have it? Are they worth the money? Thanks.

Yes I did, I loved it and it was better than the fancy one I had for my first child, plus it folds up, one of my best buys in retrospect

stargazer87 · 10/07/2020 10:08

It definitely seems popular! For me I love the fact that it looks tasteful, I know it sounds awful but I hate all the plastic brightly coloured garish stuff that babies seem to come with...🙈

Zhampagne · 10/07/2020 10:19

They are great. Ours has been passed back and forth and I think is now on its fifth baby, still going strong.

Don't buy new. There are always lots on FB marketplace or eBay.

HarrietM87 · 10/07/2020 10:31

It’s brilliant. It’s more ergonomic and has a really good balance so it’s much easier for babies to bounce themselves than in other kinds. It folds flat and is light which is really useful. For people saying is it boring for babies...surely doesn’t matter what colour the bit they sit on is as they can’t see it anyway?! The toy bar that comes with it is really good, and every baby I’ve ever known has loved them.

Wouldn’t pay full price though - the covers are fully washable so just get one second hand.

Carbis · 10/07/2020 10:37

I’ve no idea how they compare with others but I’m really pleased with it. I have the toy bar with the soft toys on. It was great when my baby was younger and he still loves smashing them together at 18 weeks. I think the wooden toy bar might be better for him now but I don’t think I’ll bother as I’m not sure how much longer we’ll use it for as he also has a (hideously garish) fisher price floor seat and jumperoo now.

I take it with me if I go to someone else’s house because it fits in the car easily and it’s easy to pop him in it.

@stargazer87

My reservation is whilst they look lovely for me by not being garish, are they boring for babies with the lack of toys, music, bright colours etc which lots of other bouncers seem to have?!
I can't speak for anyone else but my experience with my own children was that before about 6 months they weren't especially interested in the garish, beeping stuff that babies are supposed to like. Don't get me wrong, they couldn't get enough of that stuff from 6 months plus (when a Jumperoo came into its own) but when they were very small they liked high contrast black and white patterns (a Wimmer-Ferguson mobile is a gift from the gods), rhythmic noises like the hoover and the washing machine, and weirdly the red ident screen which plays on BBC 1HD instead of the regional news.

Small babies are very easily overstimulated, causing all sorts of problems with sleep etc. It was my experience that just going about our daily lives was plenty of stimulation for my babies when they were tiny.

stargazer87 · 10/07/2020 15:17

I think I'm sold...now just to decide which one to get!

Caspianberg · 10/07/2020 16:34

Def worth it. One of our best buys so far for 10 week old

Advantages over other bouncers:

  1. seat is material hammock like, so helps prevent flat heads
  2. seat fold flat, so easy to take to friends houses etc in car
  3. super lightweight. We move around 3 storey house daily from room for room in one hand, with baby in other hand.
  4. seat fully removable and washable.
  5. can use until much later as anti tip, most others you have to stop using once they can roll or sit themselves (baby not old enough for this yet so not at this point)

We havent bought the toy bar. He doesnt seem to care. Have a baby gym it fits under though we have started using, so one thing can be used over bouncer or over playmat.

Amazon prime day is soon, they usually have the best offers

stargazer87 · 10/07/2020 17:08

@Caspianberg Oohhhh I've not heard of Amazon Prime day, sounds like it could be good!

Caspianberg · 10/07/2020 17:14

@stargazer87 - prime day should be next week, but I have read it might be moved to october now due to Covid... so depends on your due date.
I think we paid £105 on amazon for the babybjorn in March though when no special day was on anyway. Ours is in grey, as that was the only one at that price, didn't fancy spending £30+ more for a different colour

stargazer87 · 10/07/2020 17:17

@Caspianberg That's a good price, I'm generally seeing them for the £140 mark!

toughsituation · 10/07/2020 17:22

We had one and then bought another one when our twins were born. One of our best baby buys! Easy to wash, easy to bounce, adapted as they grew and great to take to travel with.

HarrietM87 · 10/07/2020 17:37

@Caspianberg the toy bar is actually good - your little one is a bit young atm but once they discover their hands at 3-4 months it’s great. My DS really enjoyed reaching for and spinning all the different bits on it. It’s a total rip off at full price but I got it from eBay for about £10 and have lent it to a few friends now. It’s only really interesting for them for a few months so perhaps you could borrow one too?

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 10/07/2020 19:57

I don’t think anyone’s seen/answered my question....

Can someone tell me how flat the newborn recline is please? Thanks!

LividLaughLovely · 10/07/2020 20:10

@FizzingWhizzbee123 it’s not very flat! Sort of car seat flat, maybe?

HarrietM87 · 10/07/2020 20:13

I’d say it’s flatter than a car seat (my car seat anyway!) but not wholly flat. There’s a picture of it in the flattest position in this review:

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 10/07/2020 20:23

Great, thanks both!

JanewaysBun · 10/07/2020 20:36

I'm bad and didn't use it in the flat ish position (maybe like 160 degrees). Paid 20 quid on FB, worth that but not 140!

Caspianberg · 11/07/2020 14:09

Its fairly flat imo in that babies bum to head it straight ith no curve. the lowest level our 2 month olds bum was already resting on the floor when bouncing (he's 12lb), so we are on the second notch.

@HarrietM87 - Im easily persuaded, so I am sure we will end up getting the bar eventually
